September 19, 201213 yr I created a flight plan in FSBuild from UDYZ (Yerevan) to URSS (Sochi). I'm sitting on the tarmac in my ifly 737, I start RC, load the flight plan, and hit "Start RC" and here I am all of a sudden, out in the middle of the ocean off the coast of Africa. I then simply reset the flight so I am back on the ground in Yerevan, and I call the FSS to clear my plan. ATC seems to be acting normally still, but the controller is telling me to contact "Accra" center after I've departed. If I'm not mistaken Accra is in Ghana - on the West African coast (which is near where my plane was moved to upon starting RC). What is going on? I'm thinking it has something to do with the ICAO code for the Yerevan/Zvartnots airport. In FS9, it's still UGEE, but well after FS9 was released, the airport's ICAO was changed to UDYZ. So in FSBuild I made a plan with UDYZ using the current airac cycle, but RC4 is using FS9's data and so UDYZ is non-existent to RC. What can I do about this? Or am I totally off in my diagnosis? To add, I've loaded RC while positioned at other airports and the problem doesn't seem to occur elsewhere. Just in Yerevan. And yes, I have the latest FSUIPC and rebuilt the scenery DB.
September 19, 201213 yr RC is using UGEE in its database as pulled from the FS9 scenery. If we manually edit the airport data with the new ID as soon as you do your next scenery rebuild it will be wiped out. Older NAVDATA supplied with the FSBuild 2.4 version has UGEE as well and if you did a navigraph update for it and your fmc that's gone now. I created a new bgl file from the FS9 stock data that might work and can modify RC's frequency list and msa\transition altitude list to include this as a new airport. What is tricky in FS airport properties is called a region code but let's see how that works with the old one. It will take me a couple of days to test this and if it works then installing this might work similar to the way an afcad works. URSS is OK in RC data. I searched for a freeware add-on scenery but did not find it.
September 19, 201213 yr I installed the bgl I created and just tested it now for FS9 giving it a visual view and all looked wel with ai running around. I used Create A Flight to set it up parked at a small gate. AI were correctly taxiing out on the runways. (I have Ultimate Traffic 2007 for ai.) Since it overlays UGEE and I did not remove UGEE that part works. When I get the RC files modified I'll request your e-mail in a PM to me here and send you the .bgl. The RC frequency and msa\transition altitude data files I'll post here the text changes you need to do. It is not hard to do. After the .bgl is installed and you restart FS9 to reindex the scenery library file then you can run the RC scenery rebuild to update its runway and airport information. I'll try to take care of everything for you in the next couple of days. Now remember this is a copy of the default stock UGEE FS9 airport with the same scenery but a new ID UDYZ.
September 19, 201213 yr Author Sorry, I should have mentioned I'm actually using a freeware scenery: http://www.avsimrus.com/files.phtml?fileid=16623 Don't know if this makes a difference or not.
September 19, 201213 yr I downloaded the airport you linked to but did not install it as the autoinstaller replaces s default tile APxxxx.bgl file. That is against my policy. However on that site I found a traffic package that includes an afcad that updates that specific airport scenery ID to UDYZ. I decoded that .bgl and indeed the ID is changed. http://www.avsimrus.com/f/ai-traffic-and-afcads-fs2004-34/ai-flightplans-for-yerevan-zvartnots-airport-with-udyz-designator-25403.html?action=download&hl=udyz Apparently the 2008 scenery may not have UDYZ coded so installing the AF2_UGEE afcad from this file collection) (not the one in the included backup folder in the list) at a high priority might take care of the situation. Here's my recommendation to accomplish this: Create on your disk assignment for FS9 a folder called AFCAD2s and under that a scenery folder. My setup is H:\AFCAD2s\scenery\ From the zip file I linked above (25403-UDYZ.zip) extract it into a temporary folder. Now turn off the option to retain folder names for now. Highlight the file and choose selected file and extract it to the AFCAD2s\scenery folder you just created. Close everything out and start FS going to your scenery library settings. Add the AFCAD2s folder to your library (browse to it) and leave it at the high priority (position 1 in the listing). OK to SAVE and then close and restart FS so it reindexes your scenery, then close FS. Start RC and run the scenery rebuild insuring you put in the correct path to FS9. When it finishes after you click all of the OKs the last being a4.csv created wait a few seconds until disk access stops then close RC. Now let us verify that the new ID is in RC's data. Go to your RC folder and first make a safe copy of rcv3.dat and keyboard.dat in a safe folder location. If RC corrupts that data this might save you a reinstall. Now go to your \data folder and make a safe copy of a4.csv and r4.csv. Open a4.csv in wordpad or word and search for udyz. You should find a line similar to: UDYZ, , 40.14833 , 44.3975 ,-5 , 2837 , 12561 which is for the default afcad type file I made. If this is present then r4.csv is probably OK. Now we are going to duplicate the data for UGEE for the MSA and transition altitude data. In the rc\data folder make a safe copy of m4.csv (and f4.csv) for later. Open m4.csv in word or wordpad and search for ugee. It should look like this: UGEE,8792,7000 Copy that line to the clipboard avoiding any extra spaces at the end. Eight lines up you have: UBW,321,18000 Place you mouse cursor at the end of that line and hit the Enterr key to start a new line. Paste EGEE there so you have: UBBG,7709,3000 UBW,321,18000 UGEE,8792,7000 UEEE,935,4000 UELL,3510,18000 Now drag you mouse over UGEE and type caps UDYZ over them as a replacement so you have: UBBG,7709,3000 UBW,321,18000 UDYZ,8792,7000 UEEE,935,4000 UELL,3510,18000 insuring there are no spaces at the beginning, line end, or around the commas. If OK save that file. Now we will add frequencies for UDYZ. In your FS9 folder with recent versions of makerwys you will now find an f4.csv. That will be rewritten only in your FS folder with an RC scenery rebuild so no need to back it up unless you wish. Open that in word or wordpad and search for udyz. It for the default I made afcad it looks like this (yours may be different): UDYZ,Zvartnots,119.50,0,119.00,123.70,0,0,120.90,126.00 Drag your mouse over that line and copy it to the clipboard, then close that file in your FS9 folder (no changes). Go back to your rc\data folder and open in word or wordpad f4.csv there. Search for UBW, place your cursor at the end of that line and hit enter to start a new line. You can then paste the UDYZ line there so the srea looks like: UBBG,Gyandzha,119.25,0,0,124.00,0,0,124.00,124.00 UBW,Ugnu-Kuparuk,0,0,0,0,122.80,122.80,0,0 UDYZ,Zvartnots,119.50,0,119.00,123.70,0,0,120.90,126.00 UEEE,Yakutsk,126.20,0,121.70,120.00,0,0,129.30,120.30 UELL,Chulman,0,0,118.30,118.30,0,0,118.30,118.30 Be sure no extra spaces have been entered at the line end nor around the commas, then save that file. That's it. RC now has the data for your version of UDYZ for the runways, etc., airport coordinates, MSAs and transition altitude, and frequencies pulled from your scenery especially that modified .bgl I linked to that changes the ID. Start RC, load a plan for UDYZ, and then insure you do not get an error message. I also noticed: http://www.avsimrus.com/f/documents-16/udyz-ugee-udsg-charts-7190.html?action=download&hl=udyz which is a chart set about five years old if that helps. Please reply here if you have a problem or if all is OK. Edit the manual updates carefully.
September 20, 201213 yr Author Now we are going to duplicate the data for UGEE for the MSA and transition altitude data. In the rc\data folder make a safe copy of m4.csv (and f4.csv) for later. Open m4.csv in word or wordpad and search for ugee. It should look like this:UGEE,8792,7000 Copy that line to the clipboard avoiding any extra spaces at the end. After I adjusted and saved the m4 file, in my FS9 folder there was a g5.csv file, not an f4.
September 20, 201213 yr Your makerwys is not current, then. You must have the current fsuipc and makerwys. f4.csv was added a couple of versions ago. Please see this thread: http://forum.simflig...pdated-modules/ where it was tested and bugs worked out. For the default frequencies with the afcad I made it should look like this: UBBG,Gyandzha,119.25,0,0,124.00,0,0,124.00,124.00 UBW,Ugnu-Kuparuk,0,0,0,0,122.80,122.80,0,0 UDYZ,Zvartnots,119.50,0,119.00,123.70,0,0,120.90,126.00 UEEE,Yakutsk,126.20,0,121.70,120.00,0,0,129.30,120.30 UELL,Chulman,0,0,118.30,118.30,0,0,118.30,118.30 UERP,Polyarny,0,0,0,0,0,0,132.10,132.10 http://forum.simflig...ional-programs/ makerwys 4.612 http://forum.simflig.../beta3.999w http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html release 3.999s
September 20, 201213 yr Author Thanks, I simply didn't have the latest makerwys (honestly I never knew of this program). Just tested it all out and everything seems to work fine now! Thanks so much for the extensive help.
