September 19, 201213 yr So I went out and bought a new hard drive, 500gb, just for a bit of extra storage, me thinking it'd be fine and easy to install. I've connected up all the wires and that, and now.... I'm lost... :mellow: . I checked out some sites online and they said that I have to format it, so I went to see it in "My Computer" but urm, I can't see it there. Any help would be appreciated.... Regards, Ró. September 19, 201213 yr Open up your start menu, right click on computer, then click on "Manage". Once in "Manage", click on "Disk Management" and take a screenshot.

September 19, 201213 yr Right click on the area that says "465.76 GB Unallocated". On the right click menu, select "New Simple Volume". Then, it will run you through a self explanatory wizard that will set up your drive and Windows will recognize it.
