While reading a NTSB Accident Report on a American Airlines MD-83 at Bradley CT in November 1995 I came across a footnote that indicated AAL’s company policy was to set the crew members altimeter to ONH and the standby altimeter to QFE below 10000 feet. I wonder how AAL sets the altimeter in the Integrated Backup Flight Display for the 738? Does anyone know?

AA policy could have changed since then.

AA switched to QNH years ago.
