addon aircraft show as skeletons

Featured Replies

I had an OOM yesterday, my first, while using the McPhat livery for the PMDG livery. Since then my aircraft have been showing as "skeletons" when I'm in outside view. This happens mostly on resource intensive aircraft addons like PMDG and CS. I'm sure I didn't change anything so I'm worried I corrupted something and might be looking at a (heaven forbid!!) reinstall. Has anyone experienced this?

Do you have the highmemfix=1 tweak installed in the Graphics section of the fsx.cfg?

Best regards,

Jim

Yes, have the himemfix=1 in my graphics section. Other than the aircraft showing as skeletons it works fine...

Mine occasionally do this as well. I'm flying A2A Spitfires in PNW with the S43 and W16 airports enabled - so it's pretty processor intensive at the time ...

omg, sometimes my stupidity amazes even me. I had highmemfix=1 spelled as himemfix=1. No idea how long it was like that but things sure run smoother now...

I checked and found I was running an old fsx.cfg for ... quite a while! Not only have the skeletons gone, but my fps has basically doubled.

Rather embarrassing really ...
