I went to an airshow on sunday which was the launch of the only flying mosquito in the world. It had been rebuilt over a number of years and got it's first flight the day before that.

 

Amazing sound, I got to the end of the runway and had a number of fly overs. A spitfire sounds good, a p40 sounds good, a p51 sounds good but the sound of two merlins screaming over you from 100 feet just makes you happy :)

 

Anyway, why is that relevant? Because they had a flyover with a strikemaster, a vampire and two L-29's. Very loud but they dont make your eyes water like the merlins :)

I miss that here in Portugal :-( and the crisis killed even the few airshows we used to have :-(((
