Vsync Windowed Mode - Problem with Restarting Aero with .BAT file

Featured Replies

In Koster's Software/Hardware tweaking guide (http://forum.avsim.net/topic/370594-read-before-posting-software-hardware-guide-for-fsx/) he details instructions on how to use the Vsync tweak for windowed mode users of FSX. He advises the restarting of Windows Aero mode, and suggests 3 way sof going about this from manually restarting, to the eloquent way using FSUIPC. I have chosen the in between, opting for the use of a .bat file to restart Aero and FSX to take advantage of the Vsync tweak.

Although FSX is launched with my .bat file, Aero does not appear to restart. All I get is the Windows 7 message indicating that windows is running in basic mode, nothing to indicate Aero has restarted.

Here is my .bat file:

@echo off
start "" "F:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\FSX.exe"
net stop uxsms
net start uxsms

Is anyone able to suggest why this bat file isn't doing fully what it is intended to do?

Do you confirm Aero was active before running the .bat?

Thanks Caio for the reply. I should have posted earlier that I had resolved the problem. Turns out you have to run the .bat file as administrator. Is there anything you do in WIndows 7 without always going through the motion of running as an administrator? :unsure:

Many people turn UAC off. Click on the Start button and in the search box type user access controls then look up in the menu and click on how to disable user access controls.
