September 30, 201213 yr I put in the SID, TRANS, STAR... and I even cleared the Discontinuity, but I am completely unsure where to put in the waypoints or "airways" Jerad Burns

September 30, 201213 yr Hi (this is mostly from memory from the 767 but its the same) Lets use this route as an example CYQT-CYQV YQT J500 VBI VLR J515 YQV ( this is a flightplan from YYZ-YYC but ive just modified it to help you) go into your FMC, go to the RTE page ( put CYQT as your departure and CYQV as your arrival or whatever you like) Click Next Page You will now see a page that has dashes next to every soft key. On the top right of this page is the word "To" and on the top left the word "via" Type YQT and insert it under the "TO" column, by using the top soft key on the right side. Now type in J500 and put it under the "VIA" column, this will go in the second space. So use the soft key that is SECOND FROM TOP Now type in VBI and put it under YQT- now you are following the J500 between YQT and VBI, you will fly over any waypoints on this airway between those two fixes Now from VBI we go direct to VLR. type in VLR and put it under VBI - you will see the word DIRECT come up across from it under the "Via" column meaning that we are not following an airway between these two waypoints but going direct. Now we are going to YQV via the J515. This is important------ This time you will type in J515 first and put it under DIRECT in the "via" column then type in YQV and put it in the "to" column. Notice that at the beginning we put in YQT first THEN the airway, that only happens for the first waypoint, after that you put in the airway THEN the ending waypoint for that airway. Now go back to the first RTE page and activate the flightplan. now in the legs page you will find all the waypoints for your flight Notice I messed up and forgot that those airways dont have any waypoints between them except for what we entered. Usually youll see every waypoint that is on the airway between your entry point and exit point I hope this was clear enough, feel free to ask again if it wasnt. Regards Lee P.s im assuming your using the Captain Sim 757, if you are using the QW version they probably dont do that, i dont know but this is the way its done
September 30, 201213 yr As well documented in the above thread, go to page 2 of the Route(RTE) page. Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
