J41 Running On my Specs

Featured Replies

Hello

I am intrested in buying the J41, but was not sure about the fram rates I would get with my system specs. I have an AMD 1.8ghz quad core processer, 5GB of RAM, and crappy Nvidia inegrated graphics. I know I meet the minimum specs, but I am not sure that it would be worth it to buy it and fly with 5fps. Thanks for the help.

The J41 is one of the toughest planes there are on the frame rates on my system (3.4 ghz i7). Not sure but you may be unhappy with the performance of the J41 on your system. If you buy it, get it on JR.com for $39.99 boxed version. That way if you upgrade your computer you'll have a hard copy. The PMDG redownload policy is not AS consumer-friendly as some other companies. If you go to redownload it in 18 mos. I'm not sure if they'll let you esp. on a different computer.

Brother, I am unsure you will be able to run this thing enjoyably. I run a i7-2600k at 4.8GHz and can run 28-30, with a 560ti 2gb card, my other Rig, an i5 could hardly keep it above 17fps and that was still a bit more powerful than your current system. It is a great plane, one of the best I own and I recommend it, but I recommend a hardware update more before you buy this.

Of course, I don't know your settings, maybe with low sliders you would be ok, but unsure of your preferences.

Thanks for the help. Will probably get a new PC before buying.

I ran the J41 on my 5 year old mid-spec laptop, which was a Core2Duo 2.0 GHz T7300 with discrete 256mb nVidia GeForce 8600M GT. However, I had to keep it away from any addon scenery to get usable framerates and I frequently flew it with the autogen turned down, I got around 12-16 fps on approach to major airports in big cities. And that was using performance cloud textures and reduced autogen sets.

Based on my experience, I would say the J41 is not going to run satisfactorily on your system, the integrated graphics are just going to kill it.
