October 1, 201213 yr HI Air France! OK...Easy? or the hard way? Back in the good 'ol days... we had programs to make boxes and attach textures and such...I used one for a few years and now the name escapes me... then along came GMAX and 3DS (sp?) and others that made the "boxes and other" shapes much better.. This was intensive, and made scenery design slow... But much more pleasing.. Now you have programs like AFX, Instant Scenery 2, Airport Studio etc that make adding to an airport a snap.. Pre-designed objects in many categories....(Check these out at Flight1) There are many scenery design guys that make objects and you can find them at Avsim under the "scenery design" search... I am not certain how to do some of of the things we see these days because design certainly has come a long way... I will let others chime in... There is also a few scenery design forums that can add a lot more than I have... Hope this helps! Jeff NorthLink VA - Commerce & Community in Northern North America!
October 1, 201213 yr Also remember you need the SDK for most programs, the sdk only comes with the Gold or Acceleration versions if fsx. Programs like AFX and Instant scenery 2 don't need the sdk though Cheers Lee
October 1, 201213 yr Air france, first you will need the SDKs installed, then ADE or AFX (Flight1) to modify the airport grounds, objects and layouts. Then SbuilderX if you want to do more with the grounds like landclass, photoreal, etc. Then a modeling tool to make your own objects such as 3DSMax, Gmax, FSDS, or sketchup. Then a library creator for all your objects, best to visit FSDeveloper and use Arnos library creator and modelconverterX to optimize your objects and libraries. Lastly instant scenery 2 to place your objects. if you plan to share your work it is best to create your own objects.. Best, Michael KDFW
