  4. Yeah... wow ... some real beauties on this post... Nice job HL Jeff
  5. I agree with GPbarth, Stalls in this were exciting.... first plane I ever inverted without intent... pilot error of course... Powered back and she just kinda "fell" out of it..... :o Need to get this bird for old times sake. Jeff
  6. WOW! Gotta hand it to you HL... another incredible shot.. Outstanding and thanks! Jeff
  7. Nicely done.. Great video Jeff
  8. Verybumpy, Hard to believe perhaps, ...I will get you screenies for proof... also, are you getting those frames using FRAPS? I am getting, on the ground, a minimum of 24. It is smooth and no latency. I use FSX for my frame-rate quote. I have the railroad running and ground services. Approaches in weather used to create a slide-show on final. Not any more... From the looks I may be running more stock AI jet-wise I do notice in your screen shot something that may be different and that is my wx view is set to 60 miles. I stand corrected on sliders at max on that point. But otherwise I am getting the same clear view. Based on your monitor I imagine yours is clearer in person as I recently changed to 1080p LCD TV with mediocre resolution. There are a couple of differences on our very similar systems. One, I used 2 SSD's, one for OS and one for FSX, I have more video memory (though I have no idea if this makes any difference) I am running the 3570K at stock clock speed. And am on Win 7 64... So perhaps I am lucky. ...and that is ok with me.... I suffered with a low-end PC for so many years it is a wonder I kept up on the hobby. And for those interested Aerosoft Fairbanks X is very nice as well.. In fact, flights between these two airports is scenic in every way. Take care, Jeff
  9. This is my favorite scenery for any airport... When I first got it, my PC at the time was body slammed into the ground and was basically unflyable. I use UT Alaska as well and the combo was a frame killer destroyer What I did was take the UT AK down to minimum settings and slowly started lowering global sliders. I did become flyable and of course I got totally hooked on it as I fly Alaska almost exclusively... It was the inspiration for a new PC and in the end I up graded to Win 7 64 and the PC you see in my specs at left. Bottom line... It is now smooth as silk and I can run both UT AK X and Aerosoft ANCX at any setting. It is well worth the money but your concern about it being hard on frames and resources is well-founded. I would try what Michael said... Install and see how it goes... If it does OK you will be glad you bought it. Jeff
  10. Nice collection of great pics Aharon!... Like the overall theme... Used to Love the Eastern scheme as well.. Good stuff. Jeff
  11. Outstanding shot Howard! Very nice... Jeff
  12. Nice shot... Love the tail on this one... Thanks for posting! Jeff
  13. Hi Paul.. Here is the one I was thinking of at Flight 1.... http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=airtrfcfx Not sure how it rates..... Jeff
  14. Hi Jeff, Thanks.. yeah that is a good point.... Jeff
  15. Hi Paul, Are you thinking static planes? That is something I would like to do as well... Without having to add 100% AI traffic etc... Is there a program that does that? Jeff
  16. Nice shots and narrative Aharon.... I could feel the cold.... :Cuppa: Here is some hot cocoa for you Jeff
  17. Cameron Do you have FSPS? Panel Studio?
  18. NICE qnh... great shot. Worthy desktop background Jeff
  19. Hi Cameron Not 100% sure... and here is why... If you are skilled with VC's you might be able to pull it off. I have to say I am very skilled with 2D and every Carenado I have touched to fit my 2D home cockpit has had major issues. Seriously.... Carenado has been nice but not overly forthcoming. Brian may be be able to advise but I can tell you from recent experience... with any Carenado plane.. Good luck... :vava: The VC only stuff is not the issue as I have found. It is gauges that MUST be present for the AC to even work. But no one is sharing that info.. Jeff
  20. Sweetness! GREAT PAINT Patrick! \ Jeff
  21. OUTSTANDING! Thanks! Jeff (waiting for Santa to bring me some flight sim stuff)
  22. Rick ... Hello and Happy Holidays! I am no expert on PC's but I can tell you that even with my old HP Dual core I had a HUGE difference running FSX Gold/Acceleration.on WIN 7. With Windows XP; FSX would barely run... 4 FPS at best. Sad I know. I do know that FS9 or FSX are both wholly dependent on CPU speed first.. RAM second and GPU third. Please consider doing a full PC upgrade. My sons talked me into it and I have never looked back. FS is a JOY now. Just food for thought. Hope you and the grandkids enjoy FS with Grandpa! Jeff
