Hi, my weather radar doesnt work!! I have ASN trial installed and use OPUS FSI as weather engine. Not even with a valid ASN trial i can get it to work (without opus, just asn). Help is much appreciated. thanks!!

Well title says it .! Especially with the WXR feature ASN is on my buying list. But Opus looks really nice as well!

Is there a possibility that the NGX will extend it's WXR capabilities with other weather engines such as Opus or REX in the near future?

Hello all-I use VOXATC and a buttkicker in P3dv2.3. I'm having difficulty with the interaction of VOX and the buttkicker. When I use the lower pitched male voices they set the buttkicker off. I then lower the frequency cut off in the buttkicker but the male voices still set it off. I have the onboard Realtek sound. Other than having all VOX female controllers and pilots (which is OK by me), does anyone know of a way to separate the lower pitched voices from the aircraft sounds? I've heard that OPUS has an interface for it, but I really don't need all of OPUS' other features.

Hello, After loading OPUS weather, the weather loads (cloud, visibility etc), but after a couple of seconds, the weather disappears and return to CAVOK (back to what I started with). I am using FSInn (VATSIM), I have 'Disabled weather by default', I have tried running in CAVOK condition with FSInn, and running the program without touching the weather config settings. I have to my knowledge disabled the FSInn weather. It seems to me something is stopping OPUS weather from staying 'loaded'?? Also, I am seeing the OPUS software updating the weather, but again, something seems to knock it out after a couple of seconds. Any help, much appreciated!

I have not set a sim up in a very long time. My son wants rudder pedals to practice for flight school. I guess I am trying to go a step further. The setup I have seen I liked the look of was FSX, active sky next, ORBX, REX4. I also have looked at GEX, FEX, UTX, Opus. Not knowing how any of these truly perform I am asking for help. I would like the realism for sky, ground obstacles, water, flight, and weather if I am going to do this correctly. I do not even know how all this works any more. We have not been on a FS since FS 2004 and that was only a little. It would be very helpful to have input from some well versed users. My last real journey into this I had to use three computer to setup three monitors out of necessity. So I am waaaaaaaay behind.

Upgraded from an Asus EAH 6870 to a Gigabyte GTX 660 Ti with 2GB. FPS issues seem by and large to be a thing of the past now - even with my 4 year old i920. Here is my latest set. Thanks for looking

Still playing with and loving Opus. Flight using RW weather from OPUS, flying over the beautiful ORBX scenery. REXE texture set. Please enjoy as much as I enjoyed breaking my "V" key.

Hello, I'm having a problem with the new Alabeo PA38 Tomahawk II working with Opus. What one has to do with the other, I can't understand. When I load the Tomahawk, if I start Opus, I can start up the Tomahawk and takeoff, but shortly after takeoff FSX will lock up with a fatal error. If I don't use Opus, I can fly the Tomahawk all around with no problem. This is the ONLY aircraft that I have that doesn't seem to get along with Opus. I have never had this problem before with any aircraft. I have contacted Alabeo, but they have not responded with an answer to my problem yet. Is there any reason, that you can think of, that one aircraft, namely the Alabeo Tomahawk, would be incompatible with Opus? I use Opus for camera in conjunction with my TrackIR5, and for weather. I have FSX Gold running on a Sandy Bridge i7 with a GTX670 and 64Gigs of RAM using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Thank you, Bob

Some of you may know that I have been a very staunch supporter of 2D panels. My main two reasons for avoiding using the VC was the performance hit as well as what I perceived a lack of attractive texturing for VCs. Getting nauseated moving around the VC did not help either. I have been lucky enough to be able to buy a new PC with a 4th generation CPU (i4770K) that I now run stably at 4.5GHz. At the same time the new T7 was released. Now there - finally - was an attractive VC that could compete (and beat) the best 2D panels ever made. Since I find using the VC a tad nauseating I used Live Camera Views from Opus to set fixed views. I made them instant switchable - so there is no panning between views. They now effectively behave exactly like 2D panels. I am now ready to give VC a prime spot in my FSX experience. Long time coming. Goodbye 2D - you have been a good friend over the last 10+ years. I realize this is nothing really new. Having said that, here is my latest FSX office....hope you enjoy.... Thanks for looking

Low priority question. I'm not generally one to care much about cabin interiors of aircraft in FSX however I get a somewhat tantalizing hint of what is in the T7 cabin when GSX brings the catering trucks to the open cabin doors as well as everytime I change to the spot view and the T7 has to rebuild itself from the inside out, briefly revealing the innards of the cabin, before it's fully rendered. But there are no views (that I can find at least) to let me see PDMG's handiwork in the cabin and when I tried by changing the eyepoint view I only see the shell (cockpit, wings, but no cabin) when I 'backtrack' from the cockpit to see the cabin. I'm pretty sure this is a FSX 101 question (Google has not been helpful however), and I'll be embarrassed by the simplicity of the answer, but how do I view the T7 cabin? If possible please don't respond with "use Ezdok" and if it must be a third party solution then hopefully someone can respond with how to do this through OPUS live camera instead. Thanks!

Chaps, Any thoughts as too which is better, EZdok or Opus? I like the cameras in EZdok, but hate the configuration, is it worth moving? I might be interested in the weather engine, but i'm pretty happy with AS2012. Any other alternatives? Thanks

Hello! I decided to purchase OpusFSX today to see what I have been missing. I just completed my first test flight. I flew a route with two other weather engines that I have used prior to OpusFSX. Then used OpusFSX for the same flight. I'll first explain the test scenario and then my findings. (tldr -> Very good but annoying flight): ----- TEST SCENARIO: Flight from KUTS to KDFW. Date: 2013-01-25 (yesterday -> historic weather). Time: 17:15 UTC/Zulu. Airchaft: JS41, Fuel: 3000lbs, Payload: 0lbs. Route: DCT LOA LOA.CQY6.ILS17L (wanted to test tailwind landing a flying from VFR to IFR conditions) Here is the real world weather for the flight (numbers and colors show ceiling): Departure METAR (during planning/release): KUTS 251653Z AUTO 21010G14KT 10SM FEW027 22/14 A3018 RMK AO2 SLP215 T02170139 Destination METAR (during planning/release): KDFW 251653Z 02012KT 7SM OVC006 08/06 A3019 RMK AO2 SLP221 T00830056 ---- RESULTS: The transition from VFR conditions to the expected IFR conditions was better than I have ever seen. One other product does this quite nicely, but my first impression is that OpusFSX does this in a way that feels more realistic (at least to me). In grades from 1 to 10, I would score "other" product 7+ and OpusFSX 9 (you will soon find out why only 9) Just for comparison. Here are the OpusFSX generated weather conditions for departure and destination. Departure METAR (actual/OpusFSX generated): KUTS 251722Z 21310G14KT 9999 FEW030CU FEW400CI 22/14 Q1022 Destination METAR (actual/OpusFSX generated): KDFW 251836Z 00411KT 8046 OVC011ST FEW402CI 9/6 Q1022 Very good I would say! ---- PROBLEMS: During the flight, I was getting constant problems with windshear and outside preasure changes. I have yet to experience this kind of behavior with other weather engines. Here's a picture from FS Flight Keeper: The important columns are Type, Event and time. Look closely at the lines with type "Windshear" and "Preasure". You should see that during a span of 10 minutes they change quite frequently. FS flight keeper keeps nacking me about these changes. For example: preasure change from 1022.7 to 1023.0 => "Please check you altimiter setting". I heard A LOT of these during the trip Also for every windshear I receive this: "I don't like that wind, I think it's shearing". Had a lot of thos too. ----- QUESTION: Is this by design or is this possibly a bug? Preasure changes from 1022.7 to 1023.0 (delta: 0.3) seem quite small to warrant to be sent to FSX. Also the windshear was extremely "forcefull" from time to time. Thanks for the help! (I'm off to test the camera system)

Hello guys, Does anyone flew this little bird on icing condition using OPUS 2.90.5 or above? Casue I keep getting the right engine to flame out even with engine anti ice ON. I heard that OPUS have implemented icing, so I would like to know if its possible. Thanks

Hi there, I want to share my knowledge and learn something from yourself. I am going through an IFR course and setting up a sim to help develop a proper scan, memorise routines, try various emergencies and so on. After learning that iPad can be used to control the instruments like radio and navs from the touchscreen, I thought, a nice pc could do the whole instrument panel on one big touch screen. That worked, so i wanted connect it to another pc that would also provide an outside view on a big tv screen. Well... FSX multiplayer - a bit fiddly, but works the best of the below. It is really smooth. You can run VOXATC and it will inject ATC and traffic. It can not re-plays or share the cockpit of the A2A... OPUS FSI - stutters, the client application just stutters the major computer on the liveview test itself!? Embarrassing, considering that FSX shared cockpit pass a lot more information and does it smoothly. Wideview - another kind of stutters. If i tick the 'smooth' option, it runs better, but creates a lag. FSxpand - the gauges are not looking real, lots of customisation is required, £80, ha? Air Manager - the gauges look better but jumpy, not smooth, sometimes too sensitive or work in reverse, not stable - a lot of coding is required. Well, the best experience so far is FSX shared cockpit with VOXATC...
