First set with new GPU

Featured Replies

Upgraded from an Asus EAH 6870 to a Gigabyte GTX 660 Ti with 2GB. FPS issues seem by and large to be a thing of the past now - even with my 4 year old i920. Here is my latest set.

Thanks for looking

Love the clarity on them, very sharp.

Do you happen to have any results?

Hold up, im not implying your not telling the truth, it would just be nice to see as there seem be so many diffrent opinions on wether the Gcard does or doesnt make a diffrence.

Believe me there is abig difference between the G660 Ti (factiry overclocked) and the older AMD EAH6850.

Here is an example :

FPS locked at 30. Nvidia inspector as per Word Not Allowed's guide (along with Bojote's tweaks).

Graphics settings for Orbx PNW - recommended.

100% UT2 traffic

CS737 in VC at Cairns Airport

with all of the above it sits at 30 FPS throughout the airport on a default weather theme.

There is no way I could have done this with the old AMD

And yes, when I fly a Flanker in DCW - high level combat stays on 60 FPS permanently. With the old card it would vary between 30 and 40. Low level flying on old card in teens - in high 30s with the new one.

Hope this helps.

Looking good Brzl... congratulations on your new system GPU and all those great frame-rates!
