CH product rudder pedals help

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have both the ch products rudder pedals and yoke on an usb connection I cannot get the rudder pedals to centralise. I can get all the other functions working including diff breaking but when it comes to calibrating the pedals they steer my aircraft to port approx 10 degrees. This proves mighty tricky at 120kts on the runways!!!!i have tried calibrating both on the control panel and in fs but it doesn't seam to make any difference! Please someone lend me a hand!!!CheersDal

When you calibrate in Windows does the ruder bar move smoothly to minimum and maximum and return to the centre when you release the rudder pedals?Have you set a null point for the rudder axis in FS?Are you using the CH control manager software?

Is it a prop plane? You might just be feeling the torque from the engine.

Hi there,Right in answer to your questionsWhen i calibrate in windows i do get full movement of the bar both left and right however when i take my feet off it doesn't centralise. it is about 10% off set to the left!I have looked at the null zones and noted that the rudder didn't have any null set. I have changed the null to full. it seems to have solved the problem! Yippee Steering straight now.Can you please explain what is the best setting for the null zone? I had to change them all. 3 options. 1 rudder 2 for diff breaking. they are now all on max null! What is a null zone?Thaks for your helpDal

Hi Dal,A null zone is the bit where nothing happens when you move the control (rudder, toe brakes, stick etc), so I am surprised that the rudder and toe brakes work with the null zone set on max! However it is a long time since I used FS to set up my controls, I use a registered copy of Pete Dowson's FSUIPC to set up mine.I would advise reducing the null zone to maybe 1/4 and see if you still steer straight. The idea is to set the null zone to just over the minimum you need so you don't run out control travel, you may find that your rudder is only effective over the last few inches of travel.I would also play about with the sensitivity so that control doesn't happen all at once.HTH
