replaced gtx480 with a gtx580 any settings I could change ?

Featured Replies

I found a GTX580 on sale and I bought it. I was wondering are there any settings I could change to take advantage of this newer card ? I'm on a i7980x (@4.2)-6gbram-win7x64.

Thanks in advance,

Vic

Here are my inspector's settings:

I know this might sound annoying but did you do a clean driver install when you upgraded your GPU? I always reccomend this because issues can arise even after you "uninstall" via control panel.

It is shocking to me that people don't believe me when I say that it CAN cause problems. Selecting the "Clean Install" option simply removes any driver profiles.

I talked on the phone with an EVGA representative last week and he specifically told me to install driver sweeper and clean re-install. - This resolved the issues I was having.

Your NI settings look fine for GTX 580

Ben,

This is false information. I have experienced this recently with 3XX.XX

drivers. It is shocking to me that people don't believe me when I

say that it CAN cause problems. Selecting the "Clean

Install" option simply removes any driver profiles.

False information ? Your opinion, not mine.As far as I know NickN never had a habit of spreading false info.Actually if you check Evga's "Ultimate Nvidia Driver Guide for Uninstalling and Installing driversets", which is is a sticky herehttp://www.evga.com/...174372&mpage=15 , you'll see that their suggestions are almost the same as Nick's.

I suggest you take this up with the Evga guy and clear it up.
