Just wondering if anyone has tried to download Rex Essential $39.95 from Flightsim Store ( AU) and how they have made out.

 

I tried downloading using Free Download Manager and got 8 error messages, would not unzipp completely....85% and stopped. I remove the downloader and used the Internet Explorer 9 downloader and it has stopped twice saying download complete but it was only partly downloaded. I'm from Canada and to ship it is too much...more than the product itself. They have a policy of no refunds for any downloads.

 

I have sent them an email and waiting for a response. Tried their Live Chat ... no one replied...waited 30min...."we will be with you shortly " message at bottom the chat window. The time difference may be a big factor.. but why bother with the message if no one is their...not good for keeping customers happy.

 

Each download will take a little over 5 hours.

 

Any suggestions for downloading options.

 

i would hate to throw away that much money.

Actually I visited that post before posting here. I got a response from my email from the flightsim store people. Followed their instructions. Delete cache, temp files and cookies. download Internet download Manager, reboot computer, download using the new downloader..... got the exact same results as before when using the Free Download Manager. Download completed, used 7zip to extract, got 9 errors in the process and stopped uncompressing at 85%.

 

The downloader uses a url address. On the download site there is a list of links to down from no url address so I right clicked on the US link and copied the shortcut and pasted it in the url address box. The path produced seems to be a url address. I started the downloder and it ran for 5 and 1/2 hours, showing the progress as it happened so it must working ok. When completed the unzipping has produces errors and does not finish.???????

Try one of the slower download speed buttons on Free Download Manager if you are getting errors.

No... wireless from a tower about 300 yards away. My download speed seems to be averaging 235 kb/sec.

I purchased, downloaded and installed UTX- Canada from Flight1. Works fine. Now how come so much trouble from the Flightsim Store for REX Essential???

 

Rex ( still not downoaded) is about twice the download size but still UTC-Canada is over a Gig.

Thanks but I never purchased from Avsim because they do not have that product. I was just hoping others may have experienced a problem similar to mind and could give so help.
