Initialzoom and saved default flightplan relationship

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out the relationship between the command initalzoom in the file camera.cfg and the default flightplan camera setting.

I have seen several post mentionning that adjusting the initialzoom (in camera.cfg) allow to select the zoom that we prefer for each global camera. However, when I start a flight using the flight presented by default, its the last saved zoom that appear. I also changed the pan speed command in camera.cfg and this modification work fine.

It seem that the saved flight zoom always take precedence over the camera.cfg setting and this is true even if I change plane after loading the flight. So in that case, what is the purpose of the initialzoom setting in camera.cfg if it is never used?

Also I have read at several place that the zoom can be adjusted from zero to 512. When I use the keyboard command to zoom in and out, I can indeed zoom out to 512 in some views but I can never zoom in more than 0.3. Any idea why there is this limitation.

My system use 3 screens in Surround and some of the aircraft view are much to close even at zoom of 0.3 so I'm trying to find a way to get the camera at a larger distance from the aircraft.

Note: I'm already using EZCA for most of my camera but prefer the spot camera available in the default FSX camera system as it stay focussed on the center of the plane model.

This was the site i was reading yesterday. It is good for creation of new camera but do not explain the relationship between initialzoom command and default flight.

I have a couple of idea for testing this weekend....
