Display settngs question

In the display setting of FS2004 (hardware section) what is the difference between 1280x1024x32 and 1280x1024x16? I can not tell the difference between those two settings. Im assuming 1280x1024x32 is the higher and better setting right? (I have a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb graphic card)

Im>assuming 1280x1024x32 is the higher and better setting right?>(I have a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb graphic card)32 bit color vs 16 bit color...more is better as there is more available colors with 32 bit and less likely that you will see "color banding" with 32 vs 16 and this will become less of an issue when the next version of fs takes advantage of 40bit color as this still is an issue when many alpha textures are used as when in the clouds and such.16 bit used to offer better performance on older cards with 16-64mb memory. But you can try and see for your self.

Try for example sunset. If you still can't see it - I would check vision ;-)Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg
