October 14, 201213 yr When on final, i want to announce a missed approach, but radar contact does not reply. It only will work by hitting the number two in the radar contact menu (missed approach option) Thus announcing :" tower, speedbird 1007 missed approach" radar contact does not respond. Does anyone else have the same problem?
October 14, 201213 yr Hi Bagno, I've had this happen before with just RCV4 running. I've never been able to isolate the problem, it happened one time and has not happened again since. May I ask, is this a recurring problem? Have you tried to recreate it? Also, what was the arrival and destination airport? This could very well have been a rare "hiccup" with Radar Contact. Regards, Steve
October 14, 201213 yr Author Hi Steve, I think its a recurring problem, i have tried several flights with different arrival and destination airports. The most recent flight was a very short one (Moffet to San Francisco) with a Cessna 172 skyhawk, and i tried this short flight several times, but still no answer from radar contact when on final announcing missed approach. I think its rare, because the option for a missed approach is visible in the radar contact menu. regards, Bagno
October 14, 201213 yr Hi Bagno, Go ahead and call missed on your next flight, make sure your gear is up (if applicable) ensure you have a positive rate of climb, and see if radar contact gives you instructions. If you call missed, RC will wait to see gear up/positive rate of climb before issuing any instructions. If your problem persists I urge you to send a email to [email protected], Mr.Dekker and his team will be able to solve your problem for you, they provide top notch support! Edit: A little bit off-topic but, if your using Radar Contact, and you have not yet checked out meatwaters voices (Version 2) in the Avsim File Library. It's a must-have for users of Radar Contact Regards, Steve
October 15, 201213 yr Author Hi Steve, thank you for advice, i'll give it a try. (the meatwaters voices are great!) Regards, Bagno
October 18, 201213 yr I don't have Radar Contact, but I do know that MCE seems to struggle with recognising me saying certain phrases. Perhaps it might be worth putting a few examples of missed approach calls into the MCE custom voice training and running through them, see if that improves things. Just a thought. October 18, 201213 yr Author thanks for advice, i'll give it a try. If it does work i let you know. regards, Bagno
October 19, 201213 yr Author i have tried a few examples of missed approach into the MCE custom voice training, and it does recognice my voice. But back in flight on final, annoucing a missed approach still does not work. In the radar contact window the option missed approach appears, hitting the corresponding number and the tower responds. What i'am doing wrong? I tried the following phraseology: tower <call sign> missed approach - tower<call sign> declares missed approach - tower <call sign> executing missed approach (and many other variations). regards Bagno

Maybe you have a valid point here. Could you please confirm the exact text you're seeing (when the missed approach option appears) in RC4 ATC window? Thanks Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
October 20, 201213 yr Author Hello, The exact text in RC4 ATC window when the missed approach option appears is: 2- Missed App 3-Req IAP 4-Wind check 5-Field in Sight normally i can see my own spoken text (via shift+z) but declaring a missed approach it shows nothing. hopefully this will help, regards, Bagno
October 23, 201213 yr Author Hello, complementing. When the missed option appears, I discovered the following: "tower, <callsign> is aborting the landing" , or "tower, <callsign> is aborting the approach" and it works! But when i use the word missed in a phrase, nothing happens. In any case, a further step. regards, Bagno
