October 17, 201213 yr Hello folks, I took a few hours today and went flying for some basic navigational and general aviation training. Our flight took us from Portland to Hillsboro. Weather was a slight concern as we had low clouds, and a very slight fog layer reported on the way to Hillsboro. Enjoy Looking across the river on the way to Hillsboro Over the river now, after our turn we will have a very long extended base leg into hillsboro Turning Final, as feared the vis has taken a turn for the worse, the runway lights can be seen, and the choice to continue the approach is made Final now, after a little correcting the approach looked great. I hope you enjoy the shots Regards, steven
October 18, 201213 yr Nice series. Probably because I'm used to the FS9.5 "look", I find the subtle tones in the shots very easy to look at, no hypersaturated "blown-out" effect. Speaking of weather, in this neck of the woods it's quite interesting - I flew a RW weather trip last week, 35kts gusting 45 at 2,000ft - and leads to some white-knuckle approaches. Some B737's were diverted here because of the combination of crosswind and wet runway.
