October 21, 201213 yr Dang - Tapatalk mangled another post on me... Sorry guys... Hi Folks, Re: FS9 Could use a little help here... Last version I had running was .25 or .26 - so I haven't used the old mouse in a while... I have a new PC build - so of course I loaded up the mouse again... I found the 1.30, 1.31, 1.32, and 1.40 packages... Did a clean install of 1.30, .31, and .32... Not sure if I needed .40 as it seems geared towards wide screen... I'm still using my old trusty 4:3 monitor... I'm pretty sure I followed all the install directions to the letter... Anyway - having some issues and could use a little help... First off I can't seem to keep the spoilers retracted - they pop up and down with the "/" key but they stay visibly extended - in the retracted position - just a little bit - when they should be flush with the wing... I even tried the click spot on the panel - spoiler armed light - same result... Am I just missing something in the switch setup or do I have a technical issue ? My warning horn is sounding as I blast down the runway - up until the point I retract the flaps fully... Second thing - once airborne the trim wheel is CRAZY sensitive... A quick touch sends me climbing vertical or plunging towards the ground... What I most recently noticed - is now I can't seem to keep fuel in the tanks... I run out of gas on the takeoff roll... If I use the FS9 menu to fill the tanks - they empty again within seconds... Finally - is there a switch or something to enable the original autopilot ? Kind of liked that once since it was so different from all the other ones I fly... Bob - as always - greatly appreciate your years of dedication and support on this venerable aircraft... Really... Regards, Scott
October 21, 201213 yr 1. Sounds like you may have a joystick axis misassigned to the spoilers somewhere...could also be a gamepad if you have one attached. Check all the listed controllers in the FS options page. 2. There's a fix in FSUIPC for control acceleration--make sure that's enabled. The sort of trim sensitivity you're describing is usually caused by that (the panel code sends a lot of inputs to FS, and it's misinterpreted by FS as a key held down to the point of accelerating the inputs). 3. There are a couple sample panel.cfg files included that use the original SP-77 autopilot. You can't switch between them during a flight if that's what you're asking. October 21, 201213 yr Author Hi Bob, Thanks - I'll see what I can figure out on issue 1 and 2... As far as the autopilot - nope - not in flight changes - the panel.cfg is exactly what I am looking for... Any ideas on the fuel tanks ? Is something new with the fuel system in 1.3x ? Thanks again - keep the shiny side up... Regard, Scott
October 22, 201213 yr Author Hi Bob, I'm all set and flying again - thank you... You called it - mapped axis I was unaware of setup in FSUIPC was causing the spoiler issue... The control acceleration setting in FSUIPC fixed the running amok trim wheel issue... The fuel system thing went away... I found all your various panel configs... I'm flying again and one happy camper... All good - thanks - have a good day... Regards, Scott
October 22, 201213 yr I missed the fuel issue on the first go--make sure you have the sim paused when you set your fuel.
