Screen freezes in FS9

Featured Replies

I'm suddenly getting lock-ups on my computer while running FS9. The screen just freezes and the only thing to get out of it is a hard reset. I then delete my FS9.cfg and the Previous Flight files just to be on the safe side, but then after a flight or two the lock-ups return. Has anyone any experience of what might be causing this?ThanksIntel P4 2.4 - 512Mb Ram - Geforce 3 Ti200

Hi frog.It is most probably a graphic card / motherboard issue. I have had a similar problem with my ATI Radeon 9500 Pro card. Even with 3 different motherboards ( currently an MSI KT4 Ultra ), I cannot get the card to run reliably with 8x AGP. I use 4x AGP without any freezes. Updated drivers for the card, motherboard, or VIA chipset make no difference. It's a quirk of my card, and most probably, not common to all 9500 Pros.Other possible culprits: fastwrites may need to be off, and write-combining may need to be off.Dick
