October 24, 201213 yr Dear PMDG  I saw for the first time today that the 737-800w Hawaiian tumbled in the air. It flew course 250 with headwind 262/48 in very variable winds. The autopilot obeyed reluctantly my shift between heading and LNAV.  It is annoying to see the same problems as the queen has, namely that it can not fly in perhaps more demanding weather systems. But need to have reduced all wind around the plane more or less.  Have we reached the point that NGX has special types of weather it can not fly? I do not understand exactly what has happened. That which are updated with respect to NGX is: RAAS, Navdata, and FSUIPC.   Anyway I so much enjoy the NGX  Jens Michlas  Copenhagen, DK   Jens MichlasFrederiksberg, Copenhagen Denmark Â
October 24, 201213 yr Try checking disable wind and turbulence effects on aircraft in the FSX menu. Â I assume you are using the wind smoothing factor in FSUIPC? Â What weather addon are you using? Â //John Johnson Â
October 25, 201213 yr Author Hi  I use Rex Essential. As I wrote in my post I do not use protocol for the queen, because I want to ask whether it is really necessary  I Assume you are using the wind smoothing factor in FSUIPC? - I would just check it out  All the best  Jens Jens MichlasFrederiksberg, Copenhagen Denmark Â
October 25, 201213 yr Hi Jens I was experiencing the same problems with Rex essentials I recommend you read the threads on their forums for how to prevent 'S-turns' which is the forum term used for it. Â I myself changed to active-sky and havent had the problem since. Â Im not sure what you mean with: " I do not use protocol for the queen, because I want to ask whether it is really necessary" could you elaborate please? Â Thanks. Â
October 26, 201213 yr http://forum.avsim.net/topic/387061-activesky-2012-settings-what-i-am-using-now-with-ngx/ Â Try the link above those are the settings I use and they work fine for the Queen, MD11 and NGX. No need to use wind smoothing or disable turbulence. However note this is for Activesky 2012 which has fixed that problem from the past. If you use a current version of FSUIPC with it you should have no problems at all. Paul Deemer
