July 12, 200421 yr I bought it - for $120 Canadian! As PT Barnum said...Anyway: no 2D panel, blurry VC graphics particularly the overhead which is inexcusable for this cost; 1 livery. FMC is ok. Some nice lighting effects. Haven't been able to engage LNAV, VNAV, AP for some unknown reason. Nice IRS feature.Frosting on windows is nice along with the pushback trucks and ground power (although haven't been able to get this going either).Nice model outside and flies nicely as well.Bottom line - outrageously overpriced for no 2D, blurried graphics plane with 1 livery.
July 12, 200421 yr Len---Do you have any screenshots you can post in the screenshots forum that can show members what you're talking about (I apologize if I've missed your post if you've already responded to someone else's request).-John
July 12, 200421 yr I did. I purchased some of their cockpits and 737s in the past already, they weren't too bad, so the NG deserves a chance, I think, Very expensive, and the copy protection (hardware-bound, PMDG started with a similar protection) is causing me headaches at the moment.Support is only e-mail at the moment (I sent two yesterday, still no answer; but Ariane usually replies within 24h), but a forum will be available soon.Don't know what major bugs the bird has yet (found some minor problems), but it flies well. I compared the flight handling with the PMDG yesterday and must say that I like the Ariane more, I'm a dedicated hand-flyer.A 2D panel is in the works, but I must say that I'm getting somehow familiar with the VC (2D is still my favourite, but somehow the VC is not bad as well). Since the VC is frame rate intensive, setting e.g. the heading on the MCP is a cumbersome process. The panel graphics are blurry to some extent, but I can live with that. Sounds are great, even if the altitude callouts are currently missing.Give the Ariane bird some more time, and I'm sure it will become a great product. Even if I'm a PMDG fan, they needed almost a year to finish their NG line and eliminate the bugs.Agreed, the Ariane 737 is expensive, but for loyal customers, there's a discount.I like it, and currently, I'm happy with the support too. Things can only get better.P.S.: The Ariane has some major advantages over the PMDG: the IRU for instance is one of them. And Ariane claims to have implemented techniques no other currently rivals (not even PMDG wich they consider not a tough competition).I bought some much, much, much worser aircraft in the past: A320PIC and Aviograsf A340 (which is still evolving, keep it coming guys, I wait for that!) for instance.Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. July 12, 200421 yr Seeing as that you guys have the PMDG birds also (at least I thought I read that, it's late, and I have a mild concussion), which sounds do you think are better? Image Coming... KregE | B757/767 FO

July 13, 200421 yr many times? It's all you can see on the boards for a while. Love them or hate them, and in this instance, it's hate them if you take the common wisdom. One post got to 180+ replies and not one positive, a few fence sitters, but the vast majority were against. Hmmmm, I'd hate to try introducing a product with that kind of pushback. I'm kind of new, so don't know what happened before, but obviously something did that I don't know about. Oh well, sometimes being in the dark is the same as being in the light. If you're philosophical...billg
