I Report back when it happens

Can you please test with both the Ivy and SB-E @ same clockspeed with HT off, same RAM speeds/timings (but quad vs dual) AND the same AffinityMask (14 on both). Preferably at a fully CPU limited scenario like the first 4 minutes of the FSmark07 flight but I suppose the FSmark11 could do given your fast GTX680

Well, speaking of SB processors....here's the new SB 3970-X on guru3d: http://www.guru3d.co...e_i7_3970x.html

Is it just me not seeing anything new over the 3960X with that CPU. Sure enough, stock speeds are up 200Mhz base and 100Mhz max turbo, but TDP is also up from 130 to 150W. So the chips aren't actually higher binned ones that can do a higher frequency at the same power envelope. I wonder how many 3960X that wouldn't qualify as a 3970X...?

I don't think I'd pay 1400.00 bucks for it...lol
