Simflyers store Garmin GNSV3 radios

Featured Replies

Hi Keith G. I didn't see any way to contact you on the simflyer store site so here I am. I would like to make an informed decision about whether to buy your GNSV3 Garmin radios or not. Reading the radio's manual is a good way to gauge the quality of the sim but I did not see that it was possible to download the manual for your GNSV3 radios at simflyer. Is there a site or, can one be put up, where the manual(s) could be downloaded so I can review what features the radios have and how they operate?RegardsTerry

Oops, I meant GNSV4. Dahhh.Terry

Check the Official forum and the FAQ (it explains what the product does and does not do) http://www.simflyer.net/forums/This post compares the default gps to this product.http://www.simflyer.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15I just bought this yesterday and just began to play around with it. Keep in mind that it is not a full simulator like the Reality XP 530. Read the post in the FAQ and the author tells about it. It does not really add a whole lot in the way of gps functionality. The biggest thing is the Com and Nav radios built into the unit. It did tell me what vor radial I was on when tuned to a vor frequency. I don't think the default does this at all. I haven't had enough time in it to give an opinion (I didn't own any of the previous versions). Basically you get a nicer looking gps unit, which is sharper than the default (with little or no hit on overall sim performance as far as I could tell) combined with the 430 unit, as well as the audio control panel and the transponder. I can't really give a full opinion on it until I have given it a little more time. It took me a while to edit some panels to get the stack into them (the author is releasing some pre-made panels for addons today).

Is it worth buying, even with the stock GPS MS provides?

Being a sucker for the "new stuff" I bought them. But I don't like them at all. Just not enough functionality for me. Nice look compared to the default though. I've uninstalled them and I'll never use them again so if your email address will take a 1.2MB attachment I'll give them to you.Doug
