error messege when exiting FS2004

Featured Replies

This is a new one for me, after I exit FS2004 it will go back to the desktop and a few seconds after that I will get a messege "FS2004 has run into a problem - send report" (or something like that I cant recal the exact wording) This does not happen everytime.Does anyone know why this happens?

Did you just install the Flight Project Client software for their online service? I like their service and software very much so I'm not pointing fingers at them it's just that I receive the same error message that you are getting if I have their software installed.

No I don't have Flight Project software.

In my case it was Lago's Scenery Enhancer....

Joseph,Lots of things can happen to make it crash like that. Normally it's the video card/drivers or memory problems. Some others in this forum have suggested heating problems too. You need to read the complete message when it crashes again. Click on "Details" before clicking on the Send or Don't Send buttons and see if that gives you an idea as to what dll or program caused the problem. You might also do a search within this forum and search for CTD's or crashes to desktop and see if you can find a similiar problem there. Hope this helps.Jim Y

I just had another error messge when I exited FS2004. This is what the detail button had when I clicked itAppName: fs9.exe AppVer: 9.0.0.30612 ModName: util.dll ModeVer: 9.0.0.30512 Offset: 00010350

That module is a native FS9 module if you look at the properties. Since .dlls are used by other processes within FS, it could be the module using its services that causes the problem by passing info to it outside of its parameter limits. I, not being a designer, am not sure what it is used for, whether gauges, visualization routines, etc.It could as posted by another be caused by too little RAM or consuming too many resources (there is a max limit) that are size capped dedicated memory stacks typically given as percent if you fire up your O/Ss resource meter.
