November 1, 201213 yr Hi all, I need a little direction please. Where in the 737NGX literature can I find information on saving routes into the FMC than recalling them later? Thank you. Art
November 1, 201213 yr Commercial Member I think it's mentioned a couple times in the two main tutorials, but it's pretty simple: -Enter your route on the RTE page (ideally with no SID/STAR added in*) -Use NEXT or PREV PAGE to go back to Page 1 of the RTE pages (where you entered the departure and destination fields). -There will be a SAVE option on the Right side LSKs. -EXEC to confirm the save, as prompted. The next time you're flying that route, just type [DepartureField][DestinationField][sequenceNumber] into the COROUTE section (right below where you type the departure field in). As an example, if I've saved one route between KIAD and KORD, I would enter: KIADKORD001 into the COROUTE field. *The reason for this is you want the bare route. When your nav data is updated, the SID or STAR could be obsolete, or may have changed with new data, and you always want the most up to date data. Kyle Rodgers
November 2, 201213 yr Art, there's a great site where you can generate your route, and then import to the fmc, using the coroute to select it. the website is: http://www.simroutes.com/fb2/AccountRetrieve.aspx import it to the: FSX folder/PMDG/FLIGHTPLANS/NGX. good luck. Daniel choen
November 2, 201213 yr Commercial Member For the record, those routes are often out of date, and occasionally wholly wrong. If you're going to generate routes from SimRoutes, get them from FlightAware and use the SimRoutes "Generate Routes" feature (and leave the SID/STAR off for the reasons mentioned above*). *In addition to the fact that the SID/STARs on SimRoutes are often very, very old. SimRoutes still lists IAD's CaSaNova2 STAR. That hasn't been around for five years or more. Kyle Rodgers

Kyle,i meant for the generate route only, never used other options, i get my routes from my VA generate there and import it into my fmc, cheers. Daniel choen
November 2, 201213 yr In addition to Kyle's input above in terms of retrieving your saved route, I believe you can also click on the FMC softkey for CO ROUTE (LEFT LSK2) and then it will bring up a list of all your saved routes which you can then scroll through using NEXT or PREV PAGE as necessary. Kyle - feel free to correct me if I am wrong, is the SAVE option not on the LEFT LSKs (no 4)? Jason *** Disclaimer: Any resemblence of my views & tech advice to reality are purely coincidental. November 3, 201213 yr Commercial Member Kyle - feel free to correct me if I am wrong, is the SAVE option not on the LEFT LSKs (no 4)? You could be absolutely correct. I was working off of memory while at work. There's definitely a SAVE option on the LSKs somewhere on RTE PAGE 1...haha. Kyle Rodgers
