November 9, 201213 yr Hi Everyone! I am reposting this as I have posted it in a wrong place earlier.. Please pardon me as am new to forums. I have recently built a PC and then decided to get into the FSX world, got the game and many add ons and got lost in manuals and setup procedures as I sort of did a mistake of adding everything at once.. This might be a long post, but I really need some help here. I will include all my PC setup and am open for suggestions and am willing to re install everything to get it to work properly.. Also willing to re install windows as all these add ons (that I don't need) might have left some files or traces (I am not too into computers, so please bear with me  ) - Problems that am facing: 1- Many buttons are not calibrated properly.. I think I can tweak this on the buttons menu at FSX.. But not too sure if I need to use FSUIPC.. 2- Saitek Panels do not work properly on PMDG 737 NGX, also I have their drivers installed, FUISPC and Spad!! maybe I have too many programs to control them? They just keep on crashing, and my yoke when its centred, its actually pushing the axis to the right! 3- When I use the 737 NGX with EZdok and FS2CREW, the game frame rate drops and becomes very very slow (without REX Essential being active) 4- 5 out of 10 times the game fatal error crash 5- Graphics are horrible even when in the options are set to the max - Questions.. 1- Is it better to format windows and start fresh all over again? 2- Is it better to have a dedicated SSD hard drive for FSX and the add ons while the OS runs on the normal hard drive? 3- Is my PC not that good to run FSX properly? do I need to over-clock anything? 4- What should I do.. Any help would be tremendously appreciated!! November 9, 201213 yr First of all, not all SAITEK panelas are compatible with all aircraft. They are just made to compatible with the defualt/stock aircraft that comes with FSX! Yes you did a mistake installing everything at once. If I were you I would just uninstall all SAITEK drivers, addons, then FSX. Then reinstall FSX - run the default flight, then install SAITEK drivers, run FSX and set up the controls, then as a last step, start installing addons - one at a time. Run FSX after each install to verify that everything works as it should. You do not need to reinstall Windows! November 9, 201213 yr Author simmerhead, Thanks for your input.. Will definitely go through the links you sent. Any suggestions regarding the SSD hard drive to run FSX exclusively? Thanks again
November 9, 201213 yr Yes, I would use a dedicated SSD for FSX since it uses a lot of files and access times are usually better on quality SSDs. Also, don't install FSX in the default Windows Program Files folder. It can cause problems in Windows 7 if it isn't properly configurated. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
November 9, 201213 yr Author Ok thanks for that! So when I reinstall FSX, I make the directory into FSX instead of the default Microsoft Flight Simulator and straight on the SSD not in the Program Files on the other hard drive that is running Windows.. Correct?

Best regards, Jim Ok thanks Jim. I will read it when I get home. Just a quick one.. Am at te shop now. All I can find is a 120GB SSD from Sandisk with the speed of 6GB/S Is that sufficent or must I look for others Thanks again
November 9, 201213 yr Is that sufficent or must I look for others Running at a speed of 6 GB is the best and what I have (except mine is 256GB). Just make sure you plug it into one of the 6 GB controllers on your MB (there are 3 GB controllers too). Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! November 11, 201213 yr Author Simmerhead & firehawk44 Thank you very very very much for your input.. So, I uninstalled FSX with all the add ons, got the SSD and made a fresh new installation of FSX, Saitek Drivers, PMDG 737 NGX and Fly Tampa Dubai Reboot.. I still have to add FS2CREW, EZdok and REX.. Installed the FSX and the add ons on the SSD.. So far its running as smooth as silk.. Will be over clocking the Processor (hopefully to 4.5ghz) and GPU and ganging the RAM tomorrow.. Advice for everyone having issues with FSX quality and Frame Rate to run it on an SSD and make sure you take your time in installing it.. Rule of thumb, install FSX or the Add on, reboot, run it, install next add on, reboot, run FSX etc etc Must reboot between installations otherwise your add ons will be all over the place
