November 10, 201213 yr Commercial Member http://www.ntcore.com/4gb_patch.php This very little tool patches x86 executables in order to let them have 4GB (instead of only 2) of virtual memory on x64 platforms. This tool comes very handy for applications which need a great amount of virtual memory like games, 3D renderization, multimedia etc. To gain these 2GB, you just have to use this tool to patch the executable (*.exe file) of the software you want to have these additional GBs of virtual memory. It can be used by clicking on it and choosing the file or through command line (e.g.: "4gb_patch file.exe"). It automatically creates a backup copy of the original executable. ----------- Anyone tried this? If so, any observations? Pros? November 10, 201213 yr SP2 sets the LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag so no other programs or patches are needed, A 32 bit OS needs the /3GB switch to us it, a 64 bit OS does not. Dave
November 10, 201213 yr Author Commercial Member Thanks for answering. I thought I discovered something huge, lol. False alarm, damn. I didn't knew that SP2 brings support for more than 2gb. Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.
November 11, 201213 yr We ALL learn something new here, everyday. FSX is still a 32 bit program and can only access 4 GB RAM. Phil Taylor's Blog has a lot of info about FSX and what the SP's contained: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ptaylor/ Dave
