No AI Aircraft showing

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have been working on a fresh install of FSX for a few days with lots of little problems cropping up---I decided to do this re-install of FSX because I was experiencing far too many little error messages and was unable to load some new ORBX scenery (I eventually, after days of work, decided that the problem was not with the ORBX product but with my copy of FSX--or possibly my Computer in general).

I have had some help from members of this forum and for this I am very grateful. I think that I did (after about ten tries) did a pretty clean un-install and re-install of FSX--the program is running well---HOWEVER I am now unable to see any AI aircraft at any airports and I was unable to install Ultimate Traffic 2 or My traffic X.

I now have a good running copy of FSX and no Ai aircraft showing at any airport. Does anybody have an idea about why I am experiencing this issue, or have a solution for this problem.

Cheers

Dorn Cranert

Hi Dorn,

Did you add the line in your FSX config as follows?

User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter

SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\Airplanes

SimObjectPaths.1=SimObjects\Rotorcraft

SimObjectPaths.2=SimObjects\GroundVehicles

SimObjectPaths.3=SimObjects\Boats

SimObjectPaths.4=SimObjects\Animals

SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc

SimObjectPaths.6=MyTraffic\Aircraft Make sure this line is showing...

Best regards,

Jim

Jim,

Thanks for the tip---yes the FSXcfg showes that line---I have trouble when i am in the sim ----I can't get the scenery to load in the scenery editor

I can't get the scenery to load in the scenery editor

Sort of confused (still). Scenery editor? Do you mean the Scenery Library? If it is the Scenery Library and you cannot get the scenery to load, there is a Windows 7 bug that makes it difficult to do that. Look in the Windows 7 forum here and at the pinned topic on how to load scenery into the Scenery Library.

I was experiencing far too many little error messages and was unable to load some new ORBX scenery

Orbx scenery can only be loaded via FTX Central.

I was unable to install Ultimate Traffic 2 or My traffic X.

It sounds like you did not completely uninstall UT2 and/or MTX. Are you seeing default AI traffic? If you did not properly uninstall FSX, FSX leaves several folders on your HDD. These must be removed plus you should then run a Registry Cleaner and get the entries out of the registry. If you look in your FSX directory then Scenery/World/Scenery you should see your AI traffic files. The default is shown as trafficAircraft.bgl. If it has a .passive, then it is not active and another AI program is installed. MyTrafficX has there traffic file shown in the MyTrafficX\Scenery folder. Not sure where UT2 is located.

Best regards,

Jim
