November 11, 201213 yr Just curious how the default P3D scenery is without UTX and GEX. I automatically just installed them when initially installed P3d and haven't tested out P3D without them. I realize I could easily just uninstall them and test, but before I go through the trouble I'd like to see if anyone has a comment..... I'm also interested in if it would help performance much.
November 11, 201213 yr I used UTX , GEX, GEX-Europe with FSX + plus a ton of Orbx/FTX Sceneries. I stared with P3D about 7 months ago...I have not installed GEX or UTX - IMHO, P3D is very good as default. I do not use FSX at all now. Only scenery is the Orbx/FTX Sceneries and REX. cthiggin Tom Higginbotham Intel 4820K - OC'd 4.8 ghz / ASUS x79 Deluxe Premium MB, 16 gig Corsair Dominator ram, CorsairRM1000 PSU, Corsair H-105 Liquid, EVGA 770 Classified, 37" Samsung TV/Monitor, Samsung 840 EVO SSD 1TB, WD VRaptor, 1TB
November 11, 201213 yr P3D's default UK/Europe textures in none winter months are truly a vast improvement over default FSX and in some cases look even better than GEX (including the latest update from last week) in my opinion. In winter they are bloody awful as there is no green at all, literally everything organic is a shade of brown and it completely ruins it. FSX was the same in winter too but their textures just looked crap and out of place pretty much everywhere. Cheers, Andy.

I saw very little difference in performance between bone stock P3D and then with Orbx FTXNA PNW SP5 and VanPlus V3. Higher res textures from REX was the biggest hit. The higher, the fewer
