ARRGGG I have been bitten by the CTD plague!!!!

Featured Replies

This is annoying! One moment I am flying doing everything by the numbers, checklists, etc, enjoying the beautiful scenery, etc

After a long season without CTDs, after applying the "German" seasonal fix and removing all duplicate and faulty AFCADs, I had one the other day on a flight I was doing from Tampa to Miami. I've done this flight many times without a problem, what changed? Well, I discovered that I had recently installed a new scenery in the area. I removed that scenery, no more CTD.My advice is check backwards, uninstalling recent sceneries in the area one by one, until the CTD is gone. Also, another major cause of CTDs, is duplicate or faulty AFCADs. Sometimes we forget we have an AFCAD for a default airport, and then we install a new scenery with its own AFCAD, forgetting to turn off the old AFCAD...problems.Lee

Thanks for the voices of hope there...Tried searching for the "German" Seasonal Fix, no successWhere can I find it?I am also going to look in a recently KMSY scenery installed some time before I got this disease...

GabrielYou don't specify if there are any similar circumstances causing this each time. Same aircraft? Same region/airport? Same season?Have you by any chance downloaded my MAAM-SIM 'IFR' panel? One new gauge in that modification has caused problems for a few people as it seems to cause a conflict. It is the innergears.gau for FSTSTuner (Teamspeak facilitator). As not many people use it anyway I'm going to post any update removing it shortly. Meanwhile just disable any instances of it in the PANEL.CFG with // in front of each gauge. Just a thought, anyway. Otherwise, no idea, sorry!Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Delete or rename your FS9.cfg and let FS rebuild a new one.Regards,Jim Rhoads

Ok guys, I think I have solved it, so let me explain what was happening and what was the solution.I fly the PDMG 737 NG. Nothing new there since I have been flying this AC for months.I also have Ultimate traffic and AS 2004 with unregistered FSUIPC 3.3Some freeware mesh and * A new New Orleans Scenery installed 2 weeks ago*I am doing a Around the world. I was stationed at KTPA Tampa FL. I start the Sim using AutoStart.... everything's just fine. I start programming the FMC and then the CTD, with a previous freeze and finally the well known Send your error report thing. That happened 2 out of three times. I installed Chris Seasonal CTD Fix.I thought that was strange so I decided to go to SKBO and do a couple of circuits, same set up, and nothing happened.I had my Nvidia 5900 256MB overclocked recently so I went back to the default core speed and set up the flight at KTPA again... This time I was able to set up everything and TO... 125 NM before my destination I had the CTD again at exactly the same place; 3 times in a row...I went and Check my Scenery folder I found the UT New Orleans AFCAD in a folder separated from the rest of the UT AFCADs (?) and another AFCAD for the new Scenery of New Orleans. I took out the Newly installed Orleans AFCAD and placed the UT AFCAD where it should be and did the whole flight again.. this time no CTD.I have yet to keep testing things but for the first time in 2 weeks I was able to complete a flight...Thanks for the responses, I'll keep you posted.
