November 13, 201213 yr Hi I only use default airport, but all PMDG planes are coming with latest Airac, which is only usefull if you using latest addon airport. Anybody know where i can get original defualt FSX airac for PMDG a/c, or a general fix for these addons that come with Airac that is out of tune with default FSX nav aids. THe probelms caused by this is lining up with runway tilted off at angle and all kinds of suprises that gets quite funny sometimes. PMDG and other addon developers should really supply their products with option to use default airac or latest. Ngx was fun to fly, but quite frankly i had much better time in default fsx 737 cause i was sure it saw the correct nav aides as present in FSX. Just parked Aerosim 787 for PMDG 747-8, nice to have fully working CDU for a change, but suprises caused by out of tune airac is making a circus of things at the moment. I always fly from random departure to random destination using " destination finder tool" as a result concept of addon airports with uptodate airac does not work for me. Prefer addons that have global effect, GSX for example. AS a result looks like i need to standardise all my addons to defualt fsx airac. Any links to how to get all the PMDG stuff to see nav aids/ runways etc as FSX sees them. I got pretty much most of PMDG a/c.
November 13, 201213 yr Impossibru! Unless you manage to get hold of an ancient AIRAC from ca. 2005/2006. I can't really remember seeing those. That said, you should have no problems at all flying with an up-to-date airac without having to buy addon scenery. I'd recommend that you download freeware afcads for your departure and arrival airport tho. EDIT: Actually, there's a freeware airac from 2006, available from AVSims library http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=+airac+0608&CatID=root&Go=Search. I would very strongly recommend not to use this tho. Instead I would recommend to use up-to-date airacs and up-to-date scenery vatsim s3
November 13, 201213 yr Just a headsup because it happened to me twice: Always check the fsx internal map for ILS or VOR frequencies. Sometimes the FMC announced ILS frequencies are "wrong" and this could cause trouble. (Reminds me of an ILS approach somewhere in Italy and the VOR/LOC was sursprisingly non-functional during approach. Funny thing to sort out ) Regards Hirschi

Any good recomendation for FPS friendly payware/freeware afcad.
November 14, 201213 yr Commercial Member You can download a free demo cycle from Sept 2006 from navigraph for PMDG/LevelD at no cost. I don't know if it is the complete cycle or a partial. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
November 14, 201213 yr I have never had an issue with AIRAC cycles causeing PMDG aircraft to not align with localizers. Sounds like you might need to give the Flight1 registry repair tool a shot. Also, in the NGX there is an option in the CDU to have the NAV radios always reference the FSX default localizer. Shane Gavin
November 14, 201213 yr Commercial Member I wonder what airport it is. Maybe an offset localizer.?? Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
November 14, 201213 yr I dont think he meant that the localizers were not aligned. I think he simply meant that the course listed in the FMCs did not match the course in the AFCAD. This is due to the fact that the earths magnetic fields are switching around all the time (magnetic declination). The relative alignment between the loc and the runway should stay the same tho, even if the magnetic course changes. vatsim s3
November 14, 201213 yr Commercial Member Well in that case its time to hit the map and hand tune the radio. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
November 14, 201213 yr The Airport was LIMF (Caselle). I was just looking for an IMC airport and planned a short flight from EDDM. ILS36 was the chosen one. Localizer: CAS/109,5MHz according to current (still) AIRAC. I used the Freq/Course from FMC as usual, funny thing... at around 20NM the PFD told me that I recieve a radio. Due to my awesome (intentionally used word) flight planning (not noting the name of the LOC) i wasn't aware it was not the LOC. After hitting the LOC button nothing happened. First I thought, FSPax is tricking me with a malfunction or sys fault but my FO didn't say anything. Then I did was Dave mentioned... consulting the map and blaming the Italians for not sticking to published procedures as usual Regards Hirschi
November 17, 201213 yr Author Yeh looks like i will have to use 2006 Airac, thanks for the info guys. The idea of fps hugging addon aiport and scenery very negative at the moment, just made flight where my usual near 30 locked fps was brought down to 13 in heavy weather. And that is at defualt airport. So will try 2006 airac and stick to defualt good fps airports.
