November 16, 201213 yr Just curious what impact 64 bit will have on currently "in development" add-on's. There are a number of planes and scenery add-on's I've been waiting for. Some close to release, others still a ways off. I wonder if they will be delayed or pushed back now due to developers having to do last min conversions of plugins etc. Are we going to enter a dry spell for a while with new add-on's? I have no idea what's involved, just curiosity on my part. Its like a drug, I need my next fix! Rob
November 16, 201213 yr  Don't we all Rob! My guess is that we may be in for a bit of a wait. From what I been able to gather the whole idea behind releasing the beta was to get it to the developers of our beloved plugin developers sooner then later so they could have some sort of a platform to test on. With out the plugins most payware doesn't seem to function, I can't use my add on panels. But I did notice an improvement in the 32 bit perfomance. Did anyone else? Scot
November 16, 201213 yr From what I see, for plugins, compiling against 64-bit shouldn't require a lot of conversion. It seems a few data types are not to be used for 64-bit purposes and would have to convert from one type to another. That being said, some types such as pointers, cannot be easily converted for use if using a easier method for storing information. It would really depend on how the non-64bit safe variables are being used that would cause delays. I can't imagine it being a regular issue that would add months to the pipeline. They would have to search the code for the unsafe methods and change them to a safe method. Aaron
