Closed Taxiway Blockades?

Featured Replies

I need at add some blockades to a closed taxiway. They actual ones are are red/white striped and long, narrow, and low to the ground. I use ADE and Instant Scenery. Any ideas?

Got any pics?

I will get some.

Here are a couple pics of the actual barricades. Today they looked more orange with vertical stripes.

I get the general idea, but it's hard to make out the cross section (looking at it directly from the side). Triangular, or something else. Even a drawing would help. If I know what the shape is, I can make them for you.

I'll post a couple drawings soon.

I took a couple more pics - hopefuly better than any drawing I could do. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks.

Ah, much better. I can make out the shape very nicely now and can get started on making them.

Just curious...which airport is that?

KERI in Erie, PA, right by my house. Just extended the main runway to 8400', but - oops - they just realized after 2 years of building it that there are houses blocking the tower's (built in 1956) view of the parallel taxiway. Thus why the taxiway's closed at least till next year, and why I need the blockades. I bet some homeowners will make a killing selling their houses!

Ha ha! That's a good one! Wouldn't you love to have been the guy whose job it used to be to check things like that?

How's this? The real ones look like they have slightly rounded edges, but those are are difficult and sometimes impossible to do, at least for me.

Looks great! Will you post the files, or can you email them?

I have another question too, maybe you can help with. A friend is designing hangars for this airport, and has added realistic signage to them. But, the letters flash very badly. Do you know what causes this, and what he can do to fix it?

I'll post a link for downloading.

I sent you a PM on this one.

Here's the link for anyone who wants to download the taxiway barrier object. It's in a standard FS scenery object library. Unzip, put taxiway_barrier_library.bgl and taxiway_barrier_library.txt in your FS/Addon Scenery/Scenery folder, and the bmp files in FS/Addon Scenery/Texture.
