November 20, 201213 yr Hi, I recently biult myself a new computer comprising of the following spec... Intel Core i3 3220 Ivybridge processor 3.3ghz (dual core , 4 threads) 8GB Kingston HyperX DDr3 1600hz Ram (9,9,9,27) 120GB Kingston HyperX SSD Drive (550mb/500mb speeds) Im currently using built in Intel HD2500 graphics but will be adding a dedicated graphics card. If i add one of the following graphics cards http://www.overclock...=56&subcat=1984 OR http://www.overclock...=56&subcat=1699 , will my system be good for running FSX or Xplane 10? If so which should run the best on my hardware? Matt
November 20, 201213 yr Don't touch the ATI cards for FSX, I am not saying they don't work well but you get a better experience with a Nvidia 560Ti, it's the clouds that cause problems with ATI cards and that is the same thing IIRC a problem with XPX clouds and ATI. There is a shadermod available if you are only going to buy an ATI card. cannot comment on the i3 as I do not know how it would perform, but if you are still going for an ATI card than do not use 6570, go for a minimum 7770 or 7850, I use the HD 7750 it works really nice but again it is a mid level gaming card. So I suggest go with a 560ti or a higher 7xxx card. XPX recommends passmarks of 2000 so that would be a 6850 - 6870 - 6950- 560ti - other higher end Nvidia and ATI cards. XPX requires a lot of graphics juice so. GPU memory minimum 2 GB (especially for XPX). Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
November 20, 201213 yr Matt - For your GPU, I would recommend the GTX650. Overall, Nvidia has better, more reliable drivers, and they tend to perform much better in FSX than AMD.
