Idea for a utility: VC Magnify View

Featured Replies

I'm using mostly the VC views now... unfortunately, I can really only run in 800x600 so the readability of the VC instruments and numbers suffers.I'd love to see a utility that magnifies whichever instrument you mouse over, or perhaps acts as a magnifying glass centered on your mouse...As it stands, I usually go for the 75% zoom level, but my instruments are really only clean when zoomed in a bit.Just saying!Andrew

Andrew,I Used Active Camera (When it was freeware) and they give you the option to zoom with your mouse wheel. I asked and a friend told me that they do it on the payware version too.Go to their site, http://www.anticyclone.be/active.html and download the free trial, it is limited to a geographical area, but you will get the sense of their tool.HOpe this helps

in your panel.cfg look for the following entry inpixel_size=512,512or pixel_size=256,256changing 512,512 to 1024,1024or changing 256,256 to 512,512 will improve the clairity the gauge is displayed at. Beware though it takes a little more CPU if you make the numbers bigger. I'm only 80% shure this will help you, if nothing else its something to try.

Latest Nvidia card drivers also have a built in magnifying functionvia the desktop manager.Allcott

>Latest Nvidia card drivers also have a built in magnifying>function>via the desktop manager.>>>AllcottHow would this work in relation to FS2004?Regards BarryPS I have already installed the latest Nvidia drivers and I remember something about the new feature

Yeah, I remember something about that too...I doubt it would actually increase the resolution, though... probably just blows up whatever's there. When I zoom way in in the VC the numbers are -really- clear and I doubt that if the harware just blows up the image it would be significantly clearer...Andrew

I believe the best solution would be a 22" monitor. If someone will buy me one I'll give you all a full and un-biased report.David
