Hey there,

I really find this annoying..

I recently installed Ground Enviornment X US/CAN packfor FSX and this is what appears from top down view... Square blocks.... Its real annoying as to why this occurs???

I tried uninstalling the game( FULLY and Correctly), and then reinstalling FSX with GEX but still it appears like this..

Any help as to out to fix this? its real annoying..

I did install Scenery SOlutions Ultimate Enviornment X US . could it be that which F**** up the scenery :( cause I cant get it to look nice and smooth, its all square appeariing..

What happens if you disable Scenery Solutions Ultimate Environment X US in the scenery library?

GEX replaces your default FSX textures for that region. It is a default texture enhancement program. Think of it as an upgrade to FSX. It enhances the default textures and makes them render better and provides a better rendition of the area (so everything doesn't look like Kansas  ). Ultimate Terrain X (not 'environment') provides the landclass for what textures the default.... er... GEX textures must render, like a city, a mountain, etc. I think Richard has the solution but then UTX should work well with any and all GEX textures. Do you have any other landclass program installed for that area that may be conflicting? If you have UTX Canada, you should place it down to just above propeller objects in your scenery library. Scenery Solutions has posted how their product should be layered with other products and I recommend checking there as it would be a product such as theirs rather than GEX causing the problem. As I recall they have layering solutions in their manual too.

When you zoom down to ground level are their still distortions or issues? I suspect it is possible GEX did not install properly and, if there are distortions or blocks at ground level, then I would simply reinstall the product or uninstall it and return your textures back to the default (GEX saves your old textures in a backup).

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Jim
