Zoom Disabled In Virtual Cockpit

Featured Replies

Hello,

At the beginning of every flight I have the ability to zoom in and out in the virtual cockpit but once airborne I loose the ability todo this. Once back on the ground and at the gate I can once again use the zoom in and out feature. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Andy

Sounds like you have a program or add-on that is intercepting the keys when the aircraft is in the air. Have you tried another add-on aircraft to see if it does the same thing?

Best regards,

Robin.

Yes, I don't have the issue with the PMDG 747 series or NGX aircraft. It's funny though in that it's perfectly scaled without me having to make any adjustments, I just have to call up the FMC or other items if I want to incorporate changes...

Thanks

Robin,

I can zoom in and out in the virtual cockpit, but as soon as I've started the engines i can no longer zoom in or out. The virtual cockpit is then automatically locked to 80% for the remainder of the flight. I can pan and tilt viewing the areas in the virtual cockpit. I can still interact with the panels and FMC. I do t have this issue with the other PMDG products.

This is actually an age old FSX bug that can happen in any aircraft. Essentially what happens is your virtual cockpit window loses "focus" in FSX and the +/- zoom keys are not "sent" to that view. The fix is to left click anywhere in the cockpit, as long is it's not on a button/switch/popup etc. Just left click on the screen anywhere else and your zoom keys should work once again! :)
