NI settings for my new 680 FTW +

Featured Replies

Hello, Just installed my new card today and doing some testing. Looking for any help with the Nvidia Inspector settings. I have them set to Kostas recommendations right now but curious if I can use higher settings and if so some examples. My computer specs are in my info. So far using Kostas guide to the letter, first flight from Ksfo with flight beam KSFO airport I was getting 15 to 23 fps in NGX cockpit even in flight. Outside views were pegged at 30fps.. Thanks for any tips. Have to go to my first Xmas party of the year tonight kinda bummed I want to get my system tweaked tonight for flights tomorrow its going to be a very rainy day here in Tahoe. :cray:

Tom - FPS is really dependent on your cpu speed. I also have a 680 and I normally see around 18-21 FPS inside the VC with the NGX but only when I'm at an airport. Once I take off, my frames jump to 30 and solid. My chip runs at 4.5gHz stable and everything is fluid.

Hope you have fun at your party !

CPU - FPS

GPU - visuals

You can crank the NI to 4x SGSS, that will give you even better visuals, without loss of FPS probably, but for the FPS, you need to push that CPU even further. If you followed my guide and set the stuff up as I said, like BP=0 etc, then you should be seeing from 20fps up. And quite smooth.

Word Not Allowed, here are my choices in NI ver 1.9.6.8

4xS ( combined 1x2 ss +2x ms (d3d only)

4x ( 4x multisampling)

And there is some 8xs settings I,m confused which to use.

Word Not Allowed never mind I was in the wrong drop down box I found the setting. Thanks for your help.

Since you have the absolute beast card, I would crank AA to 8xS + 4xSGSS. :Big Grin: Enjoy the visual crispness!!
