Ariane vs Flightsim world

Featured Replies

I must say, I feel a bit reluctant to raise the question

I am going to respond to this, and then lock the thread. At no time has AVSIM blocked or otherwise prevented Ariane from posting in these forums. They are free to respond to any forum posting they wish. As for change of ownership and new management, I will believe that when I am shown convincing proof that in no way is Peter Tishma involved in the company. IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. Letters of incorporation, UK Company registry, tax records, whatever.Until such time, I suggest you do a search from the AVSIM front page on "tishma", without the quotes.

HiI have been a big fan of Ariane in the past, and i am still probably one of a few that support Ariane. To give you some answers to your questions regarding the 737-900VCeLet's beging with the weakness of the product- Price, as usual ;)- The textures are not crystal clear as its competitors. However it's competitors is using rendered textures for the pit and not photos. - LNAV has too much climb rate by default- Fuel consumption is too high by default. This can be adjusted to real values in the aircraft.cfg- no HOLD function- Fuel calculation bug in the FMC. LoL. It's competitors has the same problem. It misscalculates fuel on PROG page- no 2D pit, apart from pop-up gauges (eg.Project Magenta.)- MCP input is experiencing some gauge refresh delay. AFAIK is being addressed for SP1Now to it's strenght- Avionics are splendid- IRS works as the real thing. turn it off and your done with flight instruments. The ALIGN time is controlled in an INI file. you can set it to more or less realistic if you like. default ALIGN time is 5 min.- FS2004 Fligtplan import- Excellent visual model.- Photo realistic 3D cockpit- Accurate lightning.- switchable DU's like the real aircraft- Perfectly readable DU's- Higly realistic sound. It's really cool to fly with. I have the PMDG 737, the product is great, however, this one is a step further to realism. My specsP4 2400512 MB DDR Corsair 2CL memoryAti Radeon 9600XT 128 DDRFS Locked at 16 FPSTraffic 60% (all available project ai's)Results @LSZH using Mice Zurich 2004Inside VC: 10 - 15 fpsOutside: 16 fpsHow does it relate to it's competitor. Same gate, same airport.Inside VC: 7 - 10 fpsOutside: 7 - 10 fpsAs you can see , i have not the real highpower machine. The Ariane model is more confortable to my system. Two reasons why the community would not accept it1. some old story2. the price policyWhile the Wilco A320 was not flyable, this one really is. And to be honest. Project Magenta does not offer any pit. so what's up with not having a 2D pit.Hope this helpssee here my first flight with the product (screenshots 3.5 MB)http://muehlemannm.home.solnet.ch/Ariane739.zipCheersMartin

Terblanche,A few months ago I exchanged some emails with one of the Ariane's betatesters. For whatever it is worth:1. He did acknowledge that Peter T. was still associated with Ariane.2. He lamented that no major flightsim site wants to review Ariane's products.3. He gave me some lame excuses why Ariane would not want to set up their own support forum.Michael J.
