December 7, 201213 yr Hello guys, I want to buy another monitor not just for fsx but for other game too. The thing is I want to extend the monitor but use one to get fsx in full screen, and the other one for the charts, dispacher text and such. So, my question is: does fsx minimize when i click on another window in the other monitor, or it stays in full screen? does anyone use it like that? I currently use FSX in windowed mode and it runs fine but at full screen run better, the thing is I have a lot to check on preflight (I don't have an Ipad or tablet), and also on long flight i like to surf the web or do other stuff. December 8, 201213 yr as far as i know and have tested you cannot run fullscreen and window mode at the same time you have to choose fullscreen or window mode, i run 6 monitors as soon as i go fullscreen all 6 go full screen i had 2 same thing, i had 3+1 3 of which were in 2d nvidia surround ... so in short, cannot be done Andy Home Cockpit B737
December 8, 201213 yr You need to use Extended Desktop , or if you want FSX strecth out on both screens than there Eyefinity (AMD) and Nvidia Surround. Extended will allow you to use the charts or any other stuff on the extended display. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

December 8, 201213 yr AndyCYXU, Do you want a surround or an Extended desktop ? Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
December 8, 201213 yr surround for sure i just use my other older computer and link it with widefs for any programs that need window mode like fscomander but even when i had only 2 monitors the second right away went to full screen... it might work diferent with ATI cards idk.. but with nvidia that is all i could do fullscreen or window take your pick i was hopping second video card ( i have 2 cards in my pc gtx680&670 not sli) would stay window, but no luck they all go fullscreen... now might be dumb question but i am getting confused here... what is extended display... what i would like to achive is the best display from my top 3 monitors they are besically my cockpit front windows i'm happy with surround but at the same time litlle upset at side views as they are little bit streached what i would like is 2 or 4 monitors for front view but no has to be 3 dang it if 2 monitors then pilot+copilot views if 4 monitors then pilot+copilot views and little bit of side views on the other 2 monitors like in real life... you know what i mean... i hope only 1 catch when i turn i want the horizon to be one single line across the 2 monitors in front that would be the front windows... nvsurround offers that... but only across 3 monitors so idk... can this be done...? Andy shoot i kinda feel i hijacked OP.... sorry... :( Andy Home Cockpit B737
December 8, 201213 yr Hmm I use ATI Eyefinity , GTX670 would a setting in the Nvidia Control Panel , connect the other displays on the DVI and probably a Display Port and VGA. I am using DVI and VGA. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
December 8, 201213 yr Author The other day (when my wife was gone ) I connect my LCD TV to the pc and play other games on it, and those games played only on the TV, the PC monitor was showing my regular desktop. I would assume that FSX would work the same. I didn't test it that time cause I was in the middle of the re-install process. I will try again (if I can....) and see how FSX behave. December 8, 201213 yr Author OK I just tested. I don't know if it is because my TV has less resolution than my monitor or what, but as soon as i it Ctrl+Enter, both screens go black and I can't see anything. FSX still running but I can't see anything. If I hit Ctrl+Enter again, FSX works fine again, and my second screen gets back. The fact is, that by going full screen with extended desktop, FSX tries to use both screens. So I think its a no no for me Thanks for all tour answers anyway guys.
