December 24, 201213 yr Hi all, Since a few days ago I am unable to set a picked local time on locations I wanted to fly from. After settting the time I wanted to take off FSX returns the time to the local AP time(depending on Country). Have ticked System time in the General specs. Checked FSX.cfg and in the [sim] header time is ticked 1(Sys time). However setting it to zero does not make any diff. In my backed up cfg file system time is also on and had no problems until a few days ago. Running Win7 Ultimate. What have I done wrong or what can I do to rectify this problem. Thanks Richard Cheers from Down Under
December 24, 201213 yr Can you give us a scenario where you are having problems? When you create a flight, FSX will set the local time to either the local time saved in your default flight, or the local time on your system, depending on that config setting. In the create a flight window you can reset that local time as desired. Once the local time is set by any of these methods, FSX computes GMT based on aircraft location and its internal timezone files. When GMT is computed FSX will remember that and update local time based on location. For example if your default flight is Friday Harbor, your local time on your system is 1030, and you have the "use system time" setting, When you create a flight local time is 1030 Sunday, and based on Friday Harbor FSX will compute GMT as 1830 Sunday. Now if you set your aircraft location to Sydney GMT stays 1830 Sunday and local time is 0330 Monday. scott s. .
December 25, 201213 yr Author Thanks Scot, Appreciate the comment and explenation. But no matter what I picked, whether system time or not. As soon as I create a flight from a country that differs in time from my home location FSX changes the time to that country. If daylight in my home and night time where I want to create a flight from, on startup after a few seconds FSX will go to night time, that is local time of country of origin. I have tried changing things thru the Sims setup and fsx.cfg to no avail. However I have been trying things out and I might have found the culprit that is doing this. I am not sure yet but still checking things out. I might have found the culprit that keeps changing the time to the country of origins local time. I will keep on testing. Thanks anyways for you input, appreciate it. Cheers for now Richard Cheers from Down Under
