Hi there,

I have just bought active sky 2012 but it won't connect to the internet. It can get METARs, but it can't connect to the weather servers. I notice that there are several service packs for it, if I bought it from simmarket today, would I need to add these SPs, or are they already on it?

Thanks

John,

You need to indicate what the Build number is for the AS2012. I believe it is in the lower left of the Status page. The Build should have nothing to do with connecting to the Internet but it would be nice to know AS2012 is current.

I have the latest build now, sorry (build 4726).

It's just on the first screen when you start it up, it keeps saying the global weather download attempts keep failing:

18:55:14 - Downloading global weather data for 31/12/2012 18:55:14 (18Z) from Primary Server...

18:57:15 - Download failed, retrying, attempt #2

18:57:20 - Switching to Secondary Server

18:59:22 - Download failed, retrying, attempt #3

18:59:27 - Switching to Secondary Server

19:01:34 - Download failed, retrying, attempt #4

19:01:39 - Switching to Secondary Server

19:03:49 - Download failed, retrying, attempt #5

19:03:54 - Switching to Secondary Server

19:05:58 - Download failed, retrying, attempt #6

It then gives a message saying that the programme is in OFFLINE mode, though my internet is fine and the programme downloads metars and things perfectly well.

Weird.

John

Just checked and the weather servers are fine. Is it possible you have a firewall that is blocking access?

Sorry just to update - the METARs it's giving me are out of date. It just isn't connecting to the internet.

I thought about firewalls vic, so I turned my firewall and anti-virus off, and to no avail. It just won't connect.

John.

John -

you might want to open a ticket at http://support.hifitechinc.com/ - perhaps they can look at the log and tell what's happening. All I can say is that the servers are fine. You might try a reinstall of AS2012 though.
