January 3, 201313 yr Hi, I understand that OPUS can reside on a networked machine, but was wondering if all features are available i.e. head movement, weather gen, etc when networked. I would like not to run it concurrently on the same machine as fsx. thanks much Bob Officially retired

January 4, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Bob The networked option is so that you can use multiple screens with OpusFSX running on networked PCs. You need to install FSX on all PCs (server and clients). OpusFSX has no performance hit on FSX. Currently the weather is sychronised across the network but we have yet to implement the DHM on the clients. Try the demo and see for yourself how it works with your hardware setup. Regards Cheryl

Even though it has been a long time since I tried the demo, will the demo work again if I download? Bob Officially retired
January 4, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Bob Just to clarify, the weather engine currently runs on the server and synchronises any clients over the network. We are going to develop a weather engine that will run from a networked PC but this is not on performance grounds, mainly to introduce new weather assistant features etc. The demo will work if you download it again and you can upgrade it to the latest beta too. Regards Cheryl

Bob Hi, You had mentioned the weather was syncronized across the network and I made an assumption that the weather could be generated on a client then passed to the FSX machine. In your last email I see this is not true. Well if there is very little impact on the FSX machine I guess I have no worries. I will give it a try again and thanks for your help.
