Reinstall of FSX

Featured Replies

I just completed a complete uninstall and reinstall of FSX. Now as I am attempted to start reinstalling required addons I find when I went to reinstall FSUIPC there is no modules file folder in my FSX program. I have the GOLD addition of FSX, which includes all the SPs and I did a complete defrag of my systems after the reinstall. My question(s) are what happened to my modules file and is FSUIPC required with the Gold edition? Thanks for your help.

FSUIPC is a utility and a freeware addon. Not required to run FSX but it has a fix for a known FSX crash called the G3d.dll CTD. It doesn't fix all of the g3d crashes but traps most of them. You will have to download and install it separately. The registered version is payware but that is not required even to fix the g3d crashes. You need to download and run the fsuipc4.exe in order to properly install the utility the first time. For subsequent upgrades, you only need to drop the new version into your Modules folder. Not sure if there is a Modules folder if there are no "modules" installed. If the Modules folder is not found during the FSUIPC install, it will probably create one.

Best regards,

Jim
