Confused - which Resolution to use?

You should be able to get some more performance by overclocking your CPU.

SAAB340 -

After doing some research on IPC last night as well as my FX 6300 and I have overclocked it to 4Ghz. I also turned off the turbo boost and cool & quiet idle feature so it runs at a constant 4Ghz. Before I made these changes I noticed that the core speed was only about 1.5Ghz unless there was a lot of demand. Now with the core speed steady and constant @ 4Ghz I have noticed a great boost in performance in all aspects. I was sure to load test and monitor my temperatures after the overclock as well as voltage and all looks great.

I don't even know if the default FSX Affinitymask is.63 or 21. If you followed Kostas guide for tuning FSX I suggest trying Affinity Mask 63, 62 and 57 to see what works best for you.

I take it that you use your PC for other things than FSX thou? GTX660 in SLI would othervise be quite a waste

To be completely honest I did not know that Word Not Allowed had a guide for tuning FSX. Is this available here on AvSim? With that said, I have never changed any Affinity Mask setting, nor am I fully aware of what it does?

As for my SLI dilemma - I am considering installing a 990FXA-UD3 m/b so I can run both of my GTX 660 SC GPUs. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for all the great advice and knowledge,

Ben Weaver
