  1. Good morning Gents, Unfortunately I've been called into work today and won't be able to participate in the flight at the scheduled time. I'm so sorry. I will still complete the flight only I will have to do it solo later today.
  2. Is there still room for more pilots? I would love to join. Also, has a donation link been set up by AVSIM yet? Name: Benjamin Weaver Aircraft: A2A C172 N521BW Thanks!
  3. I must say I saw this coming from miles away! Congratulations Kyle!
  4. I am also running Win 7 64 and a few months back after some regular updates my FPS was destroyed. The sim would load fine but I was getting about 3 FPS. I was confused because I hadn't made any changes other than Windows updates. After some google searches I found a patch for one of the updates that was installed. I installed the patch and everything went back to normal. Kind of weird I know.
  5. Yuk. Republic Airlines aren't worthy of Boeing airframes. Leave them to their French birds
  6. While taxiing in KSEA last night I turned on the wipers and noticed that they appear to only wipe about 1/3 of the windscreen and then go back down. Is this a bug or real world operation?
  7. Thank you for the update, Captain. p.s. I would like my 747 v.2 now
  8. gb - I am extremely happy with the Saitek radio panel! It comes with it's own drivers that once installed, automatically configure in FSX. I didn't have to do anything extra to get the radio panel to work with all aircraft. One of the best accessories I have purchased!
  9. I had the same problem Sean. That's why I use a 8ft folding table as a desk. It has plenty of space for everything and the yoke and throttle quadrants mount nicely to it. Also fairly cheap at about $80.
  10. Here is a quick video of my new setup that I recorded last night. Sorry about the quality, I recorded it with my phone.
  11. Lol I know what you mean! I already have the bug quite bad. Here is a short video of my setup that I recorded last night. (sorry for the quality, I recorded with my phone)
  12. Yes, it is quite impressive! I have the bezel (edge) distortion down to a minimum with Nvidia Surround. I just finished my first flight and it looked awesome! I was even surprised to find that my FPS didn't drop at all! In fact, it almost seemed better than before! I don't know how I have lived without multiple monitors
  13. Thanks for the info Yair. I did try setting everything up with my 2 monitors but everything I tried just wasn't giving me the results that I wanted. So, I actually went out and got a 3rd identical monitor and used Nvidia Surround to setup my 5760x1080 resolution. In FSX all I had to do was change the resolution in the .cfg to 5760x1080 and it's working perfectly! I'm running in full screen mode and FSX is displayed on all 3 monitors. I love the new view! :-)

  15. HI Fabrice - Thanks for the info! I am actually thinking of doing 3 monitors also. I have read about the TH2G but since I use Nvidia I am going to try the Nvidia Surround to set up the monitors. Have you heard any good or bad about that? Thanks!
  16. Hello - I was just wondering if anybody out there uses 2 monitors for the NGX? I recently purchased a second monitor and would love to get it set up so both monitors display the VC (left monitor displays left side of cockpit and right monitor displays right side of cockpit). How does this affect performance? Any insight on the topic would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,
  17. Hello - I am very seriously thinking about getting another monitor for my FSX rig. I have never set up or even used dual monitors before so I'm really not sure where to begin. I currently have one Samsung 27" LED monitor and if I decide to go dual I would buy another identical monitor. How easy is it to set up in Windows 7? How easy is it to set up a nice cockpit view with both monitors in FSX? (I would like to set up the view like this http://www.timsaviationadventures.com/Pics/iraq/setup.jpg ) Does FSX have to be used in windowed mode or can I still run in full screen? Does using dual monitors hurt FPS / performance? (I have a Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 660 OC) I would greatly appreciate any advice and help with making my decision and set up easy :-) Thanks!
  18. So I've been trying to sort out this problem for a couple of weeks now and I am pretty sure it is FTXG causing my slow down. Last night I did a low VFR flight in the A2A C172 from KBJC to KAPA, a quick 12 minute flight at 8,000MSL. When I flew over downtown Denver the scenery looked great but the FPS dropped below 10. As soon as I got out of the city the FPS shot right back up around 30. I did a touch and go at KAPA and headed back to KBJC and the same thing happened on the way back. The weather was also clear for the flight. Any ideas on this? I have FTX trees and lights tuned on, does this cause a slow down? Are there any other settings in FTXG that I can play with? Thanks!
  19. Awesome! I was just on their website to place an order but I didn't see a "purchase" or "add to cart" button. Am I missing something lol?
  20. Hi, Just curious if you ever got your 737 throttle levers from Cockpit Sim Parts? If so, how do you like them? Thanks
  21. I cannot even begin to express how unbelievably excited I am about this!! Seriously can't wait for the Queen of the Sky!
  22. Update: I did a few things. First I set my antivirus / Firewall (Avast) to exclude ASN. Then I actually set all of my ASN settings as per Matt Davies settings in this video: . Then I set all of my Nvidia Inspector settings to 4xS as per outlined by Ryan from PMDG in this post http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/ . I also verified that my cloud, sky and water textures were set to 512 in REX. I did a test flight in the PMDG 777-200LR with Vatsim weather in a good, dense storm and BAM! FPS is back up around 30 I will be conducting several more "test" flights in different parts of the world with different weather to verify these settings but it is FAR better than before and I believe I have nailed it. Thanks everybody for your help and advice, it paid off (as usual) B)
  23. That's what I was thinking too Zoran. I've already got a post up on the ASN forums, just waiting for some feedback
  24. Thanks for the tip Ernie, I will definitely take advantage of that! One question for you... Is it unusual to have FTXG cause poor performance at lower altitudes? Say below 10,000 or so. I'm just trying to pinpoint a new problem I have. Since I switched from GEX to FTXG I also switched from REX to ASN at the same time. Now when I'm on the ground or below 10,000 I am getting really poor performance with frames dropping below 10FPS. This seems to be more obvious when cloud coverage is dense but I also noticed it happen when there were very little clouds present. Since I installed both FTXG and ASN at the same time I am trying to figure out which one is causing the poor performance. Any advice or help with this would be great! Thanks!
