I am new to tileproxy, as of one day ago, but not new to FS (25 years now), and I cannot believe it has taken me so long to find this. Anyway, I already prefer the server 3 option (Yahoo) as it seems to have an edge on the Bing server. however, the are certain areas where the resolution from Yahoo is so bad that even at airliner altitude it is only just useable. Trouble is, I fly GA low and slow. Specifically, can someone please try the following two areas, using the number 3 server. 1. Yorkton, Saskatchewan. 2. Inverness, Scotland. If you get perfect results, then I obviously need some coaching. FYI, the Yahoo server is great in other areas. Florida, around Miami is excellent, and so is the Kalispel area of Montana. It might just be available files, but the above areas where I have issues do apprear to be excellent when viewing those areas in a regular browser. Looking forward to your your feedback, and all the best for 2013. Kenneth Kerr.

Hello - I am quite confused about which resolution I should be running for the best image and FPS. I am running an EVGA Nvidia GTX 660 SuperClocked 2Gb GPU (will be adding a second GTX 660 SC next week SLI) and I am using a Vizio 42" Plasma 1080i for a display. Currently I believe my resolution is set at 1024x768 @ 60hz. Even though this is listed as a PC resolution and not HD I have it set to this is because everything fits the screen perfectly and looks good. When I have tried selecting 1920x1080 everything is too big to fit on the screen even though everything I read says to use 1920x1080. So, my question is which resolution should I be running? If I should be running a HD resolution like 1920x1080 then how do I adjust everything to make it fit and look good on screen? Any help understanding this will be great! Thank you,

Hi All, In spite of a beast-like computer, I still see fine sawtooth edges on the wings of my Majestic Q400. Pl advise me on what I need to tweak to get rid of them. I have selected anisotropic sampling and anti-aliasing in FSX. My comp specs are i4770k o/c 4.5 GHz, Zortac GTX 780 (3 GB), 8 GB RAM at 1600 Hz, 120 GB SSD, 500 GB HDD. My addons are MyTraffic2013, FS2crew, FTX Global and occasion various hi-res airports like YBBN and EGHI. I look forwad keenly to your suggestions. Thanks a ton in advance for them! Best, Lucky ///////////

Merry Christmas Eve to all. I didn't think that this fit in the hardware section. I received my new 2560X1440 monitor today and hooked it up. I opened FSX and selected this resolution from the menu, 2560x1440x32, and noticed that I had two black sections on the left and right. I was under the impression that 1560x1440 was 16:9 aspect ratio, and I am fairly certain that the last monitor I was using was 16:9 aspect ratio which had no black sections on the side. When reading about FSX CFG I read that, I think its called wide screen, should be changed to true. I'm pretty sure I have not done this yet and will try it. I'm just confused that if they are the same aspect ration why is one showing black sections??? Also, when I change wide screen to true, is there a section of the CFG that I need to type in the new resolution, 2560x1440? I wouldn't think so since it already showed up in FSX Setting. By the way, I know a little about changing CFG and editing through Notepad, but am very much an amateur at this, so a child's explanation would be very helpful. Any advice is welcomed and have a merry Christmas everyone!

Hi all, I purchased the 737NGX add-on aircraft after seeing some great youtube clips of it. The virtual cockpit looked so realistic to me, I had to do a double-take. I have invested in a top of the line setup to run my FSX, this plane, and some other add-ons for scenery, etc. I am finding that my virtual cockpit in FSX doesn't look as realistic as those on youtube! Theirs are a little darker, have this intense realism to it, that I can't explain, in the way the panels and gauges look. Mine still looks like a game. I have all the settings cranked in FSX for aircraft. Is there some specific place I should be looking as well? I was cranking up the aliasing options on my Nvidia GTX780 control panel, thinking this would help. Still more tweaking to do. Hope someone can help point me in the right direction. i certainly have the rig to do any processing to make this product look as real and smooth as it can. thanks, SF

Hi to everyone, It's my first post here because you guys solved me the other problem that I had, so, for that, a big thank you. But now I've encountered a problem that no one seems to have, and I'm recurring to you for help. I'm running P3D Pro Plus v3.3.5, on my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 7559. I know that Desktop PCs are better, but I'm also a University Student and I needed a laptop, so I decided to buy one to play P3D on medium settings. My specs are: i7-6800HQ - 2.6 - 3.2 Ghz GTX960M - 4GB DDR5 16GB RAM P3D on a SSD 4K monitor (15.6'') The thing is, if I run it fullscreen (either completely fullscreen or "windowed fullscreen") I get around 20-25 FPS on the Aerosoft Airbus, in a payware scenery (e.g. JustSim Linz), with broken clouds and REX4; at 4K resolution. But, if I go into windowed mode and shrink the window about 20%, I get like 30-40 FPS. I thought that it was the result of the "lower resolution" that now I was having on my screen, so I decided to change it to 1920x1080 to prove my point. I did that but nothing changed, the figures were the same. I even plugged an external 1080p TV to see if maybe the downscaling was causing this issue, but to no avail. Exactly the same as above. I'm really confused. If someone need some screenshots or files to see what may be wrong, just ask, I'll be in the library with my PC studying Thanks in advance, and a special thanks to the admins of AVSIM for keeping this FS knowledge database alive. Hello every one! I am running Prepar3d v3.1 on pretty much every thing maxed out expect AI traffic. On a typical session I use a number of addons like airport scenery ( I fly to flytampa dubai a lot), REX 4 + soft clouds, Active Sky Next, Ezdok, Trackir, PMDG 777, GSX Ground services. I thought I could run this with reasonable frame rates because I think I have decent computer. Specs. i7 6700k Overclocked to 4.4ghz 16gb ddr4 2666mhz Ram ROG Maximus viii hero Motherboard. 250gb SSD + 1tb HDD Two GTX 980 Ti running in SLI config. Now, I also have a 4k monitor so therefore I have been running all this in 4k resolution so far. On a fully loaded airport with mostly every thing maxed I get between 20 to 30 fps with few drops to about 15 fps. I do love the eye candy but it does start to stutter at times which makes me want to switch to lower resolution. And here lies my question. I get absolutely zero difference in performance when switching to a lower resolution. Frame rates stay exactly the same. I haven't done any tweaks with the cfg file. When I lower the resolution to 1440p in games like GTA V and BF4, my frame rates increase by 20 to 30 fps. But why not in P3D? PS, These are the screen shots I took in game with frame rates. They were VERY unstable. Here is another one just a few miles down. Notice the frame rate drop On this particular approach the frame rates ranged from 20 to 60+.
