  1. Seems that I've had more issues running Tileproxy on windows 8, than I ever had, running it on Windows Vista! With Vista, it was running as smooth as warm butter across toast and the photorealistic graphics, were incredible! With Windows 8, on the other hand, it's like having a cavity with the nerve exposed, a complete pain in the butt. Freezes the loading of FSX, in between 34% and 42% and the only way to get FSX to finish loading, is to close Tileproxy and afterwards, restart it once FSX has finished loading and then, you still don't get the photorealistic graphics! Not saying that it's Tileproxy's fault, cause I don't believe that for an instant, but I do believe that it's Windows 8 fault and the first chance that I get, I'll be buying a new laptop and installing Vista back onto it.
  2. I am new to tileproxy, as of one day ago, but not new to FS (25 years now), and I cannot believe it has taken me so long to find this. Anyway, I already prefer the server 3 option (Yahoo) as it seems to have an edge on the Bing server. however, the are certain areas where the resolution from Yahoo is so bad that even at airliner altitude it is only just useable. Trouble is, I fly GA low and slow. Specifically, can someone please try the following two areas, using the number 3 server. 1. Yorkton, Saskatchewan. 2. Inverness, Scotland. If you get perfect results, then I obviously need some coaching. FYI, the Yahoo server is great in other areas. Florida, around Miami is excellent, and so is the Kalispel area of Montana. It might just be available files, but the above areas where I have issues do apprear to be excellent when viewing those areas in a regular browser. Looking forward to your your feedback, and all the best for 2013. Kenneth Kerr.

In the install progres, there's a message about "digitally signed driver" and when I'm trying to start it, in the dos win there is another message about something and press key to continue -The window is closing. I'm running the System on test mode - not working. Thanks, Thomas.

  6. Hello, i'have installed TP normaly, set to fs9, good proxyuser.ini from template, antivirus deasabled etc... When i'm running tp, everything's ok in dos window, tiles are loading but nothing appears in fs9, just normal scenery... do i have to load any scenery in fs preferences? idon't understand. I still have tried tp with fsx and it worked perfectly... Do i have to install fsx to make it work on fs9? thanks for help Noé
  7. Hi, Can anybody HEELLPP? I installed Tileproxy Beta 8 today. Read through Ed Truthan's amazingly well written and thorough Quick Guide and installed the program for FS9 and FSX (I have both). Edited the two .ini files as suggested. Ran Tileproxy and all seemed well until I ran FS9. No scenery at all, just black ground and blue sky. Left FS9 running for about 20 minutes until it shut itself down! (Got bored I expect). The Tileproxy DOS window seemed to be doing it's stuff all the while and was producing large numbers of 'hits'. After repeating this exercise over about 2 hours I gave up and gave FSX a try. Changed the proxyuser.ini file, as suggested by Ed, started Tileproxy again, ran FSX and heh!, there was the Tileproxy scenery straight away - no problem at all! And brilliant scenery too. One thing I did notice was that in the MS DOS window the FSX program produced asterisks (*) in groups but these didn't appear when I ran FS9 as far as I recall. So why won't it work in Fs2004/FS9? Can anybody tell me? I'm using Windows XP with all the upgrades (I think). As advised by the installation program I installed the program in to my FSX directory/folder. Do I need to install it in the FS2004/FS9 directory/folder as well? Would appreciate your help. Thanks. Jetset 10 P.S. How do you see post titles rather than the poster's name?
  8. I've used tileproxy occasionaly for many years, and I know that there are many different types of errors. But after working for hours to get it working again on my new Windows 10 machine, i've finally gotten to the place where grids with 'circles' in them appear on the terminal window. And, it notices when I go into fsx and out of it again. It says "simulation started!" . Everything seems to be fine. No error messages in the tileproxy window. Except, in FSX, there are no changes. The game loads waaay too fast for it to be comprehending the tileproxy scenery. It's almost instant, it should take a few minutes at least. There's the ugly white default scenery everywhere. I've tried all three cache services, and the one that works is no. 1 (virtual earth). I've done all the disabling of driver signatures and everything. All of that is working fine. How can I make FSX read the scenery that Tileproxy is producing? FSX - Steam Edition Thank you!!
